Best BMW drivers club?
Discussion
The BMW Drivers Club was arguably the very best club to join, certainly in my view. It closed down however after the tragic death of the founder and CEO and was combined with he BMW Car Club.
This has always been an elitist group of stuffy, pompous, self centered individuals who look down their noses at the general BMW driver, running the club for their own benefit at the members expense.
HOWEVER
They became so bad, they were all replaced (thrown out) by another group who I have heard are trying to turnaround the club into a far more friendly organisation.
They may be worth trying to see if attitudes have changed within the hierarchy of the club.

I don't think your statement is remotely fair.
I was a member of the drivers club and have been a member of the car club for over 10 years.
I have made some great friends through the car club. There are different groups that focus on different things so there is something for everyone. Drivers club for me was inferior but friendly, although very sad when Graham passed.
Track day section is excellent as is concourse if you like tfT sort of thing. Regions organise events where both member and non members are welcome. Sections organise car specific events. Then there are the national events and tge club magazine.
Club is linked to all other BMW clubs works wide and has won numerous awards since I have been a member. They are the only club officially endorsed by BMW and allow members discount on both parts and service at most main dealers.
I used to run a register so must be one of the arrogant, pompous unfriendly members who run the club for their own benefit at members expense. In 5 years I organised 80 events across the country, wrote numerous articles and featured on TV. I spent a lot of my own money doing this. My family and work commitments meant I had to stand down and it was the case with the Geoff who stood down after 13 years to pass on the mantel to others.
Personally I think it's a great club. Run by the members for the members. Running 6 bmw's in my household the membership pays for itself many times over each year.
I think I have said enough but will agree to disagree with you.
