Warranty and Zirotec ceramic exhaust system coating

I came across this very interesting product at the Birmingham motorcycle show. This company will cover your exhaust with a ceramic coating and this effectively reduces heat loss from the pipes, in turn lowering the temperature inside the fairing. IN ADDITION, the guys at the stand were saying that by preventing the heat from escaping, you get more reliability and performance because the gases can now flow more easily, which increases cylinder scavenging.

I'm am expecting a full Akropovic system from BMW in the next few weeks and would really like to have this done before having the system installed. However, does anyone know whether this could affect the warranty? Could having this coating potentially cause a fault that BMW could use as an excuse to reject a warranty claim relating to it?

I’m guessing you are talking about a BMW motorbike.
I was going to do this on a Triumph Scrambler I had but learned from a few people who bought ceramic coated exhausts that, depending on the coating quality, the coating can pick up scratches and scuffs and after a while look messy.

The coating was done mainly to remove the discolouring from the exhaust and it looks quite nice, when new, I’m not sure about insulation properties.

Regarding warranty. I guess BMW could reject a claim on the bike being nonstandard.
I wouldn’t do this to a new Akropovic exhaust, they are beautiful as they come.

And that increases flow of exhaust gases how exactly? By decreasing gas density? Effect must be tiny surely. Do it for a cooler fairing, but not for the "supercharger" effect they claim. I smell bullst.

Q32. Will your ceramic exhaust coating improve performance - Engine performance is improved in a number of ways:
By reducing engine bay temperatures our coating can help reduce intake air temperature. A drop in intake air temperature of just 30oC can deliver a 6% increase in power (or increase engine efficiency leading to less fuel usage), and our coating has in fact been demonstrated to reduce underbonnet temperatures by up to 50oC (122oF).
By keeping the exhaust gases hot they flow more easily through the exhaust and this aids cylinder scavenging. This benefits all engine types, though the effect is potentially most pronounced for 2-stroke engines.
Keeping heat in the exhaust gas allows turbochargers to spool up more quickly making turbocharged engines more responsive.
