I can't even begin to tell you how unbelievably frustrating the last 48 hours has been! I'm no web geek so when people are suggesting SQL this and php that I haven't got a clue what they're on about.

Can sympathise with your frustration and even anger.

I'm sure it will prove to have been teething problems soon, when all will be running smoothly.

What it is, is a chap who was doing me a big favour by hosting the site free of charge for a year whilst I got it set up. Unfortunately the servers in Germany he uses have been subjected to repeated DOS attacks over the last week and he was unaware so he's lost commercial customers as well as me. I couldn't get hold of him at all yesterday because he was travelling and when he finally got back he realised what had happened. In his words, it was a complete disaster and he is now in the process of binning his German provider and trying to salvage his commercial sites. In the meantime I've gone with another provider so backed up the database and uploaded it to a new host. It's now in the process of 'propagating' so we should see the site anytime today - I hope. I will still have loads to do in the back end but the chap who's having a mare is going to help me. What a pain!

What you're doing is very much appreciated mate. It's early days and clearly there will be teething problems. But wherever it ends up residing, it's looking good so far.

Honestly, it's driving me nuts. Every time I call something is not right and they say they've fixed it and they obviously haven't. To top it all off I'm now overseas on a course until end Aug so I can see my phone bills going through the roof. An absolute nightmare, I'm so sorry!

When it was reset last night we had to point it to a different host and it takes time to propagate throughout all the global servers so I don't think it's happened where I am yet!
