If it was that, is it likely to slowly fail or could it likely leave me stranded with little warning?

Will this cable and what not work with my e91 too?

If so i might invest.

I'd also like to raise the air bags default setting on the e61. Can you do everything like that with them as well?

I would think so on both counts.

I got mine here https://www.cable-shack.co.uk/

E91 may be a different cable but same software. Only an extra £20 or so for both. Well worth having and can do a lot with them.

Crank sensor can definitely leave you stranded and it does sound like it is failing and hasn't failed. Could of course be something else...

Failed crank sensor=non start
Failed cam sensor=longer cranking time as ecu has to use crank signal and do some maths to allow starting

(This was a few years ago on BMWs and the protocol may not apply to ops car, the cam/crank sensor/s may not have anything do with the fault-just chucking my two pence worth into the mix).

I remember buggering about on my N52 E91 engine with a crank sensor not connected and it still fired up (with a CEL admittedly, and a longer cranking time) - I was impressed it all still worked!

Been driving this today. Forgot what a beast is it. Loads of power and instant response from the big v8 when you touch the throttle. Really good car. I cant believe these are so under rated. Great car.

Sorry ATM - thought I replied to that!

Without looking it up; I think there is one cam sensor per bank but something tells me there is only one overall.

There aren't 4, I don't believe.

No problem sir.

I'm nearly up to 3 years and - maybe this will jinx it - zero problems.

Ok some bushes and all new shocks.
All new brakes waiting to go on.
Gearbox oil change / service.
Replacement key after losing it - literally - at a music festival.

Been driving mine today. 300 mile round trip to Leicester and back. Forgot how st the Bluetooth was compared to my i3. First time I have driven it since New Year’s Day, but I needed the extra Range this car gave me over the i3 as I had to get back quick.
Love the car still, despite rarely using it. Trip did cost me £80 in fuel instead of £20 in electrons. At least I can go above 94mph in this (should the limits allow it smile )

Looks a bit low at the front, especially for an SE and compared to the rear but it is low miles!

Lots available between £4k and £5k but mostly well over 100k.
