That's very reassuring.

I plan to get the gearbox serviced and I need to (I think) get a fan fixed that sits behind the control screen as the radio cuts out in higher temperatures - not a problem at the moment!

Overall drives remarkably well with 150k on the clock - it feels much less, the steering is tight and the engine is sweet. It has been very well looked after and mainly motorway miles so I guess less wear and tear.

Argh all photos appearing upside down - even when I turn the original upside down to correct it. Obviously doing something wrong. Back to drawing board.

Unusual combo of colours - I haven't seen one with the armrests in a different colour to the centre console and door cards. The leather on the seats looks darker than the Werthers colour of my first 545i Touring interior (which I grew to hate) too. A nice alternative to all black.

Yes it's a mid-brown rather than beige, I imagine it doesn't show up as many scuffs. I thought it would be too dark, but it's growing on me.

First wrinkle - temp gauge recording stuck at -40 C. I think this means the temp sensor needs replacing/reconnecting and also why the a/c isn't working. Will add to the list for the first service!

She sailed through another MOT this morning clap

Next up on the list is to investigate the tailgate wiring again... the glass lid has started popping open.

When ours did this it wasn't the wiring - I wasted hours taking the rear glass out to investigate. It was the switch that's part of the wiper, and it was fixed in 10 mins. £60ish from memory for the switch

Interesting. It is intermittent and when it is opening itself, I usually can't get it to open using the switch. Is there a sure fire way to work out if its the wiring or the switch (aside from taking the tailgate wiring shrouds apart?

I had the same problem on an E46 (tailgate glass self opening). My diagnosis of the switch was to disconnect it. The problem went. New switch fixed the problem.

Mine does this. I just live with it.

^^^ Also my diagnosis - disconnect the wire behind the switch. Open the rear window, unscrew the panel around the wiper motor and it's in there

So for the first time today I fitted the load liner contraption to the back of the seats when they are folded flat. I was led to believe you can then draw the mesh dog guard thing up to the roof. There are brackets in the roof lining to accept the mesh just behind the front head rests. Anyway it doesn't work as my mesh is only about 12 inches in length total and this is way short of the roof when the seats are folded flat. Has anyone tried anything like this with theirs?
