No rubbing to report although I have been trying. Need to switch over to my new to me summers. Think I'll wait another couple of weeks. Anyone know how I can tweak the ECU's ride height for the rear suspension myself - what form of electronic gubbins do I need to do this?

DIS or ISTA D will allow you to adjust rear ride height.

Technophobe here - how do I get that?

They are both types of dealer software. You can find free downloads online or pay for a copy from eBay. They both run on a laptop. DIS is the older one.

What are you up to ATM?

Mine is in for an MOT today. I've not driven it for a good 6 months now it's SORN. Man... I'd forgotten just how good it is! Fingers crossed it's all ok.

Good luck with MOT.
Mine failed recently due to side-wall damage on both fronts - not that I was aware of seriously hitting any potholes...
I've hated the run-flats since I bought it last year so in some ways not a total disaster.
Now running on 4 x P7's - rides better, steering has more feel and braking's more positive.
Apart from that dontcha just love 'em?
Cheers, Pewe.

Good luck! Congratulations laugh

On a related note, my pads at the very least will need replacing in the next few months, is there an easy way of finding out which ones are needed via VIN or similar, or will it be a case of having to pull the old ones off to check them before ordering? Ditto for discs I guess!

Aha, sage advice! Thanks, mine was a very early LCI so seems to be some crossover on certain parts, but that site has cleared up any discrepancy smile

I have a pair of discs now which do not fit my car so please give me a nudge if you need front discs.

I've got my all new discs and pads on now and they feel a lot better. The rear pair were seriously shot. I had some judder before but after changing the rears it was gone. I did the fronts about 2 weeks later. EBC yellows have a good bite if you press on them.

Now also running my tiny 17 inch oz wheels with summer tyres. Gone for 245 45 17 but they don't feel as good as the 225 50 17 winters they replaced.

I'll check how my discs are looking, thanks (although I'm hoping it's just pads that need doing this time around; braking feels fine but the service management reckons I've only got 1000 miles or so left. That could be a few months yet with my mileage though laugh)

Parked on rough ground and saw my tyre very close to the arch. Can just about get a finger in so it's fine.

The door jam sticker has 245 45 17 listed so I set the pressures to recommended. What occurred to me was it's odd that the recommended rear pressure is higher than the front. Doesn't make sense to me. Surely the front is heavier with the engine. Even if we believe BMW 50 50 story why would the same tyre need more air at the back?

Yes. I had the same thoughts. Fine if its fully loaded, but just two up front? Perhaps its to help make it a little oversteery smile
