I'm aiming to be at Goodwood this Sunday in my 550i SMG (discussed somewhere earlier in the thread). I left it too late to be exhibiting but I'll be there regardless.

Good evening gents,

I finally managed to join the E61 brotherhood. Just bought this 2006 E61 530i Manual. It needs quite some work done, but has potential, and i just love the interior color. However this means i have to get rid of my E91 335i Manual crycry

Been looking for ages for a manual 530i, almost as hard to find as a E91 335i manual frown

His garage lists an E91 335i LCI.

So much more car the E61. It wont be quick like the 335i but hopefully no slouch. I don't think I've ever seen a 530i manual.

I had an E91 335i auto and it was a good car. I bought it with the intention to replace me E61 and ran the 2 side by side for a while but I just didn't get along with it. Nothing major it just felt like less of a car. Everything is just so much bigger in the E61 and I think the seat stuck out the most. Even with the leg extension thing extended fully it just felt like the seat wasn't quite big enough. The E61 feels much more of a car.

That interior looks nice. I think my ideal colour scheme would be blue - le mans I think it's called - with a brown interior like yours. Now that I'm getting old I'd want the comfort seats I think. I've had a sit in the standard seats and they really do feel like sitting on a sofa.

I had Deep Sea Blue on an E61 and Le Mans on the 335i Touring.

Deep Sea is even nicer imho.

I always found LeMans really, really hard to keep clean, it showed water marks etc. really badly.

I've had both as well. I prefer Le Mans out of the two but I agree that it does show every mark up though for sure.

It was very annoying as I was looking forward to it. Hoping to go on the rearranged date in October though.

Very nice 530i, and I agree about the interior, it looks superb. I enjoyed my auto one, well done for managing to find a manual.

Thank you. I wished they were comfort seats, but quite happy with the comfort of the sports ones for now.

Have to agree with you on the other poits aswell. Apart from the obvious massive power difference(will take some adjusting), the e61 is so so so much more refined and easier to drive (Servotronic steering helps with that). It's less hard-core than the 335i, which was to be expected. And the fact it was manual was the selling point. I've been looking for one long before i started looking for my 335i manual.

Thank you. As mentioned earlier, I was looking for a manual one for a looong time. Just glad i could find this one, no matter how much work i have to put in.

L.E: A quick pic with them side by side biggrin I absolutely love the way the 335i looks and drives, so will be quite hard to let it go frown

To be honest, I would have made you an offer on that, but wife just looked at me and said "No way to a manual."

She gets really bad sciatica driving manuals.

Looks great though mate.

Lovely but overpriced surely? It’s a 12 year old 3 series with a six figure mileage. Hope I’m wrong, I’d be interested to hear what you get for it

I think the price is punchy. But no harm trying if you can. I sold my 2009 E91 335i auto on 88000 miles for 9000 just over 2 years ago. It took about 3 months to sell. Manuals do see yo carry a premium and arguably the 3 series suits it better but I think the power delivery of the 335i suits a manual better. But most people buying these cars have never lived with one and just look at the headlines. I keep in touch with the guy who bought mine and he still loves it. I get thoughts about buying another but it would need different seats for sure. Maybe m3 seats could work but the better car for me would be an F31 but they're a bit dull to drive. The E61 still feels good to me. I only drive mine occasionally and everytime I do I think to myself this is a great car. Even before I provoke that big v8.

Pushed the boat out with the European car wash place and went for the 6 quid wash, dry and tyre shine. They did a decent job this time and got all the moss off it. The winter wheels even look half decent. Amazing what a difference a quick wash makes. Treated it to some Tesco 99 too.

If you put it like that, yes. But if you take into account how rare it is, and decent compared to others 335i i saw before buying this, it's not far off. The advertised price is just that, since everyone wants to haggle, so that has been taken into account.

Looks nice. My OCD is screaming about the missing towing cap spin

Every time i buy a car,I strip the interior out and give it a good clean. And oh boy, this was a dirty piglet. I had to wash everything: carpet, headliner, door panels, seats, boot liners. Hopefully i will finish tomorrow, and put everything back together.

In case you're wondering what a car might hide under the seats. They ended up being a slightly different color at the end hehe (clean one on the RHS)
