I had some 19" styling 218 laying around in my garage, so decided to put those on. Needs some spacers on the rear and a bit of lowering, but i think they suit the car.

Nice simple design. They look good. The 6 series came with run flats. I couldn't live with run flats myself. God awful things. Especially in 19 inch. What tyres have you got on them?

I've been going the other way and lately have been running 17 inch. Still got my winter setup on. Been thinking about trying one of my 18 setups now that I have the better spacers on. All my wheels are 35 to 40 offset so just don't work without spacers. I went all in last year and got some 30mm which bolt on. You can go crazy at the rear on these. I'm using a 15mm and the 30mm so effectively 45 in total but dont forget the wheels are 40 not 20 so effectively I'm running 25mm wider than standard.

Ordered some new jacking points for mine. Last time I switched wheels I realised I'd lost a jacking point from the sill. Does anyone know if there are just 4 jacking points, those on the sills, or are there 6 total so 2 more in the middle of the car, 1 front and 1 rear?

It’s official, the car is going. Been given a low price for px, but to get it out of the way I’m gonna accept it. advertised it on a couple of bmw Facebook groups for a few hundred more than trade in if anyone here is interested in a bargain.
Not gonna advertise in this post as against the rules.
In 2 weeks I will unfollow this thread ☹️ as it will do is remind me what I am missing. Longest I have ever owned a car for as well, that’s how much I loved it.

Just the four on the sills I believe. Two front, two rear. On most BMWs I've had you can jack under the front and rear subframes if you need to life both sides at once. smile

I have normal, non run flats on them: 245/35 and 265/30.

I've seen the ad this morning, its bloody cheap. I would be surprised if it stays for sale for a long time.

Already had 1 time waster. Yeah I’ll come pick it up tonight. Next thing oh I’m concerned about the EML. Well it was all mentioned in the advert. It’s either the o2 sensors or more than likely needs new cats. 3k new or £400 from a dismantler (so say Munich legends). At that price it’s gotta be worth a punt.

I'm starting to have some issues with my rear wiper. Instead of moving from 9 to 3 o'clock IYSWIM, it now only goes from 10 to 2 o'clock.

I tried spraying some lithium grease around the spindle, any other ideas on what may be the issue? It is slower as well, but it's the stopping and returning at 2 o'clock I find a bit strange

Mine is still random parking despite stripping down an re-lubing the spindle
I then replaced the micro switch (ex-Farnell) in the wiper motor which stops the wash/wipe working when the glass lid is opened.
Now it may be that it needs re-configuring but I'm reluctant to disconnect the battery totally to do this in case I lose other pre-sets.
Any advice please?
Failing that it has to be the hinge wiring...

I stripped down and re-lubed the spindle, which solved all the problems apart from stopping at 2 o'clock which I can live with tbh

Does it need one with the CV 6 month exemption?

I believe so as that only applies to those which expire on 30th March or later.

The infamous manual one is back for sale again. This one has done the round and been mentioned on here before.

That is a really nice spec and I love the idea of these with a manual gearbox. I would prefer a M Sport looks wise though.

There was a black sport auto from Japan a few weeks ago with only 30000 miles. That looked box fresh.

FYI there's a relay buried deep in the spare wheel well commonly called the Salmon Relay p/no 12631742690 and available from BMW Parts Online (also see RealOEM.com diagram searching by p/no.) @£22 delivered.
These can go u/s, especially if there's been water down there. Also check the relay holder for corrosion.
Sadly replacing it still hasn't fixed it.
I'm now thinking about the Hall sensors in the wiper motor OR more probably the hinge wiring which, despite having paid the supplying trader for c.5 hrs work before Christmas still seems the most likely fault...

I've decided to give these german coilovers DTSline a go. They send you the full set for a E61: front coilovers, rear shocks, and rear adjustable links. Arrived a few days ago, and just finished the install today. The adjustment at front is halfway, and on the rear they are tightened all the way, plus a bit more low from Inpa (about 6mm). Will come back with a feedback after i do some miles on them, but so far they seem really decent compared to other cheap stuff i had experience with in the past.
