I will be putting my interior (above) for sale in the next couple of days: pre-LCI non-heated semi-electric seats in Dakota Kastanienbraun. If anyone here is interested, let me know.

What's replacing it?

Saw a set on Ebay a couple months back. Hang on still there but in cream. It's a big job swapping all the bits over right? We need a couple of pics surely. I'd be tempted to buy one from Europe if I was doing it. That way the seat most worn would be the passenger side and the new driver seat would be really tidy.

The problems with the ones from a LHD car, is that the passenger is on the other side, so it will require a whole lot of different wires, or coding, or swapping occupancy nets.

Finished the retrofit. It was a bit of a pain on the wire side, but manage to get everything to work. My advice is, cut the harness of the seats off the donor car, it will make life a whole lot easier when wiring them up.

Strangely, my first impression is that i sat better in the old sport ones, as they were lower. The Comforts sits a bit higher, and me being 6'5" i feel that immensely. I'm sure i'll find a decent position after a few days of playing. But all the other adjustments they offer are a great improvement over the standard sports. Also swapped the alu-cube trims with a pair of wooden ones, i think they suit the color of the interior better.

One during the operation:

And the finished result:

Also tinted the windows:

P.S: Check if the car you get your interior from was crashed or not, as i forgot mine was and after installing everything back i have the dreadful restraint system error due to the pretensioner seat belt being popped. So have to pull the seats out again at some point and swap the pretensioners with the ones from my sport seats bangheadbangheadbanghead

This 530i manual just sold on Ebay. I was tempted to have a cheeky bid because it looked cheap.

It has some odd lights behind the front grille:

Yeah with basic cloth and se spec it could be x police. But still it looks cheap.

This was for sale a while ago. Looked alright honestly. Good mileage, too!

It was certainly cheap. It hasn’t got a calibrated Speedo so wasn’t a traffic car. Also police tend to use the diesel versions. Maybe it was a Walt wagon?

Not done many miles over the last few years. At one point only 4K between MOTs

Looks like it might have been a good pick up at £2k

There’s a very long thread on here about Walter Mitty types. For example:

I saw an X5 for sale and the seller told me there were extra lights fitted. I assumed blue but he didnt actually tell me what colour. He told me he did work to speed cameras on the motorway hence the higher mileage. But private seller and private sale and had owned the car a good long while.

I agree with you on this - I think the sports seats in my old 530i were easier to get instantly comfortable in that the comfort ones in the 550i (I am 6'3"). I think part of the problem is the myriad of adjustments you can make on the comfort seats - 6 months in I think I have got it bang on!

Much nicer with the wood trim. Makes it feel far more exclusive.

Moving house. Dont need a van. The 550i can swallow a single mattress unfolded. Mind you a modern foam mattress can fold anyway.

Does anyone happen to know the history of YH06KTE?

Black 550 touring.

It’s on AT, been for sale for a long time, less than 1,000 miles between the last two MOTs.

My lease car is going back in July and this looks suitably inappropriate!!

Cheers, Steve.
