Sounds great, do you have the part numbers by chance? I already have a Clubsport knob.
25117546373 Shift Selector Rod 25111220600 Shift Bearing
25111220439 Plastic Washer (4) Some say you do not need these
25117571899 Securing Clip (2) If you lose one or both, it is good to have these
What foam are we talking about? #8? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BM71-...
I need some coilovers too, car is used occasionally on the road but mainly to drive to track days. Need to be under £750. Looking at HSD Dual, HSD Mono, BC (whatever the cheap ones are) and Yellow Speed (as used on M3 Cup) Any thoughts?
Cheers

Just getting prices from Cotswold, is it worth changing 25117580281 as well? (£11.80)
Only if you're replacing the entire mechanism or have a troublesome part. I replaced only the shifter and left the connector rod and all it's associated parts as is. Thanks
Fitted DS2500's on the rear to match the fronts this evening - easy!
Then I fitted my 545i shifter, also easy. The yellow washers didn't fit though! Problem is, securing the white ring seems tricky - it seems to be in there now but never really seems to 'latch' in properly and it came out the first time I drove down the road. Have I used too much grease?
The shifter is great though, more precise and a much shorter through. The knob seems to 'rotate' more now though - not sure why they put that pesky rubber in the rod.

The white ring is secured by rotating it till it the end stops are locked in position.
It just never seems to stop rotating. Access is a pain with the shorter throw and rubber boot! I will have another look later but it seems OK at the moment as long as it doesn't move on its own.Max M4X WW said:

Did you install a new white plastic bearing? I installed one and it's tight as hell. Not coming out easily. HugoFastmann said:

Yep. It is weird, but having not messed with it before I'm not sure what is correct. It pushes in and turns, but never seems to actually lock in and just keeps turning!JZZ30 said:
Just got it home. Advert is probably still on autotrader. I wouldn't really know how to tell but advertised as an SE but has a body kit
Probably an unloved colour, but I like that it's not Silver or Black. An absolute hoot to drive. Not the fastest, but very usable.
I love that colour - it makes a nice change from solver/grey/black! (Mine is Imola Red as I do like a colour). Probably an unloved colour, but I like that it's not Silver or Black. An absolute hoot to drive. Not the fastest, but very usable.
It is an SE - the bumpers are different on a Sport but if you want to be sure the front fog lights are circular on the Sport and the Sport also had staggered 17 inch rims. (See my photo below).
But the goods news is that all 325tis came with Sport suspension and seats!
They really are a chuckable car - but a bit more power wouldn't hurt!

A set of staggered alloys would be ideal. I like the wheels, but they are not wide enough for the body.
A couple of years ago I let my nephew drive my 325ti - so then I had to find him one! Managed to track down a 325tiSE facelift for him (so a 6-speed) in Sapphire Black with Beige leather and factory sunroof, but only 16 inch wheels. His reaction was great, less grip = more fun!
But when he became a parent last year and I tracked down a 325i Sport Touring he seemed quite pleased it had 18inch MV2s the same size as my Z4. It seems size does matter! (Well until he needed a new tyre)!
Still a different set of wheels shouldn't be too hard to find, or you could buy spacers to move them out a bit - the 16 inch wheels do look a bit lost to be fair.
So time for another gratuitous photo - this time my 325ti and Rob's 325i Touring. Red content!

Red is nice, they are small enough to carry it off.
Yeah, I didn't really doubt it was an SE. Just the front bumper looked different from others.

FWIW they do feel nice to drive on the 16s
Have fun
