The E46 325ti Appreciation Thread

Hello all,
Thought i would finally put a post up of my 325ti, I've had it 9 years so far and put over 100,000 miles on it. I didn't realise people liked compacts enough to start an Appreciation Thread!.
It's been a brilliant car so far and pretty much faultless (apart from the oil it was starting to use). With it being daily driven, many European trips and endless laps of the Nurburgring i decided to treat it to a new heart. I'll be doing a picture heavy Build Thread on it in the Readers Rides section.
Here it is, Individual Estoril blue on a 54 plate.

From the looks of your Flickr account you've already done a fair bit of work to it Thought i would finally put a post up of my 325ti, I've had it 9 years so far and put over 100,000 miles on it. I didn't realise people liked compacts enough to start an Appreciation Thread!.

To think I was under the impression my white one was rare.
I have never seen an estoril 325ti, assuming that’s the factory colour?
Looks immaculate aswell, look forward to the updates.
Yes it's factory colour, apparently it was a £3000 option when it was new? unsure how true that is though. It was immaculate until i left it sat in the driveway uncovered for a year, water crept in and under everything. I have never seen an estoril 325ti, assuming that’s the factory colour?

That looks stunning, I have only ever seen 1 estoril blue compact which wasn't a 2.5l. Very jealous! Looking forward to updates.
On a side note I have ordered some interior carpet dye to have a go at dying my faded parcel shelf and will let you know of the outcomes.
Thank you, that sounds like a messy job!On a side note I have ordered some interior carpet dye to have a go at dying my faded parcel shelf and will let you know of the outcomes.

Bloody hell, an Estoril Blue 325ti. I've seen a fair few 316ti models in Estoril, but never a 325. Must be rare as rocking horse poo. Glad you're keeping it on the road.
I've seen one on instagram in germany. Most of them are 316ti's like you say, but there is one somewhere from years back with full csl running gear and seats i remember. It's been off the road since March 2017, so it will be back on the road at some point ha.

Looks fantastic in Estoril, probably my favourite BMW colour.
So what’s going in, M54 3.0 or S54 or something else?
It does, i had sold a topaz blue 325ti (non sport) and was looking for a new car when this popped up, soon as i saw it in person i had to have it. It's got an s54 waiting to go in it.So what’s going in, M54 3.0 or S54 or something else?

Metallic paint as an option cost £495 in 2002, if that blue that my IPhone keeps spelling wrong was an individual colour I’m afraid I don’t know the cost. amc_adam said:

I don't blame you for playing the long game. I think the end goal for mine is also to create a sort of M3Ti. That, or I'll supercharge the M54 in it. Either way, the future is bright. It's been off the road since March 2017, so it will be back on the road at some point ha.

I'm thinking of moving on my 2003 325ti. Auto Trader, eBay or an auction, decisions decisions.
When I was selling my 52 plate 325ti Sport in Imola Red earlier this year I just put a post on this thread, and it sold in less than a week! That may be a good starting point! Had a go at dying my parcel shelf black again, results are pretty impressive!
I used a product called AutoBrite black carpet dye from ebay. Comes in a 500ml bottle with a trigger sprayer.
One thing to note is it makes a hell of a mess so removing the handle and masking up all plastics, including under the hatch is a must! As well as gloves, the dye likes to leak out of the trigger sprayer all down your hand
You may also want to lay a tarp over the grass
One bottle IMO was not enough so i've ordered another one, still a little hint of blue/purple which the camera doesn't pick up too well. The true colour can be found under the handle which is a deep black.
