Guys, LSD for a 5 speed ti.. what are the options? Want to keep the same ratio and without needing a custom prop etc, are there any bmw lsd's that are a direct fit or would it be a case of having mine rebuilt with a quaife or something

I’m not aware of any straight fit diffs from another BMW with an lsd and the correct ratio. I think it may be a case of getting yours rebuilt with one.

Hi Guys

Any advice, one of my Zenons has gone out. But it’s not the bulb as I’ve swapped them over to test. I did read somewhere here about a ballast

Does anyone have a spare for sale or know where I can get one?

Mine's not got another years ticket. Needed a pair of arms fitted for the test, and the brakes were juddering, so new front discs and pads went on.

I think I am going to sell it soon, too. After nearly 3 years I fancy something different. It's been a grand car, and never let me down when needed most, but an E30/36 calls...

What E30/E36 are you thinking of JakeT?

Basically I want a 6-cyl model. Preferably a 325/328i. I'd like an E36 325i, To feel like it's 1993 again. I'm happy with a bit of a project, and I've become really taken with my 328ci. For my long commute, it's great. I also like the fact that it's quite dog-eared, so piling the miles on isn't an issue. I also feel like it's a little lacking in imagination to have two cars that are so very similar.

Just saw a very clean Imola red (E4 DRE I think?) 325ti near Truro. One of the nicest I've spotted in the wild.

If anyone is looking for a car for themselves, my old silver one is for sale and has had a 330 engine fitted.

Out of interest why are you after a lsd ? Unlike my e36 328 compact I find my e46 compact has plenty of rear grip and wouldn't benefit that much from a lsd.

If anyone has a metallic purple Compact (Velvet blue) I have a pair of very good door mirrors and the rear number plate light/plinth.

Mine was a Sport so had the staggered 225/45 x 17 fronts and 245/40 x 17 rears - I used Pirelli P Zeros and never had any issues with them.

But November to April it got fitted with a square set of 205/55 x 16 Michelin Alpins - just in case! laugh

I'm running Yoko AD08rs (225 front and 255 rears) although it's not a daily driver and been bought mainly for track use (did the BMWCC Oulton Park Day recently). We've stuck with the staggered rim sizes as l decided to keep the std wheel design and didn't want to have to buy/sell wheels to achieve a square set-up.

I'm running a facelift sport with 17's staggered wheel set up, Falken FK510's all round, excellent tyre for the money & tonnes of grip, finally resolved the issue of bouncy revs on the car, gentleman I bought it from said he fitted a new battery so I didn't think anything of it, never the less after inspecting all other electrical parts& found zero issues I decided to have a look in the boot at the battery, what I found was a 60ah 550amps battery that looked tiny in the gap & knew straight away this was insufficient to power the car, £115 lighter & a 85ah 800amp battery installed & all problems resolved.

Thanks for the suggestions, saw this appear in my watch list on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bmw-E46-325ti-Compact-L...tongue outf:0&LH_ItemCondition=4#viTabs_0

Were these fitted as standard? Don't remember seeing one last time I was under my car
