Hi All
Need help again, as I’m no mechanic. Mine has been going through oil at a ridiculous rate. I’ve read the info here and understand the Pilot mod but couldn’t do it myself.

I’ve found a mechanic thats come highly recommended. As soon as I mentioned it he said it needs the following.

Price to replace crankcase ventilation valve and pipes £140+vat.

The question I ask is this, is this what’s needed or will the Pilot Mod be better? Or cheaper? I’m clueless and don’t want to spend this money to find out it needs the pilot Mod.

If anyone can help it will be much apprieciated.

The driver's side front wing is very crusty, but the front wings aren't structural so shouldn't cause MOT problems. And I'm pretty sure they are bolted on, so not too big a problem to change them. Unlike the rear wings!

Bonus is it's a facelift (mine wasn't, and I did miss not having a 6 speed box).

If you can get a set of winter tyres on rims thrown in I wouldn't say it was dear. I sold my 52 plate Sport in Imola Red on 103K miles last February for a few quid more. I sold my winter wheels separately as the buyer didn't want them.

Wood trim in a Sport model looks a bit weird though. laugh
The car listed looks quite good value IMO. Front wings do bolt straight on/off & there's normally a few listed on EBay. A detachable tow bar is useful, though I'm not sure it'd see much use if this particular car becomes an occasional track car! At the BMW Car Club track days, I'm one of a number who've now acquired 325Tis.

Handy for parts discount if nothing else.

I only joined because of the Track day discount...I was introduced to their track days by a couple of friends & they really well run & have very few stoppages & a distinct lack of "muppets" driving. Unfortunately they've paired back the calendar slightly in the last year, & though more expensive than some of the more traditional organised days, they have less stoppages etc. so I justify the extra cost by the fact you're not being stopped by incidents anywhere near as much as other days I've been on.

Pretty low mileage too.

Hope you enjoy driving it.

I make use of the sunroof in mine whenever I can - with the quarter vents open too you can hear the exhaust note as well

I'm a bit excited as I have just purchased a (probably) overpriced used Eisenmann rear box on eBay.

I've been looking for a year so hoping it is worth the money given nothing else has come up in that time. Will hopefully get it fitted soon and see how it sounds.

Yeah, I think that's a nice car in a good spec.

The silver facelift is lovely too.

I do miss mine.

Looks great, similar to my one but yours has the sunroof. I’m biased but IMHO they look best in silver (or white) as it accentuates the chunky bumpers and aero sills etc

Mine's got just under 50k too, so another low miler - I need to get out in it more!

can anyone recommend which gearbox oil im going to need and how much? going to change it as I suspect it's never been done and lifetime oil just seems an hilarious statement to me.

I am going to be looking at improving the handling/responses of mine once it comes off it's winter tyres in the spring. My car is bone stock at the moment, on about 60,000 miles. Interested to know what you guys would recommend/prioritise? Cheers!

Probably replace all bushings and put a strut bar in.
Thats about it I think?
