Interesting re gen BMW cam cover gaskets, I’ve been recommending them for a while.

I fitted the i6 kit to mine as it was cheap - if I was keeping it forever, and money no object I'd probably buy the Beisan kit. But as it's a bit of a shed that's likely to end up with a B30 engine at some point I wasn't too worried. smile

Same with the cam cover gaskets - I bought the Febi set for £20 rather than 2x for the BMW OE

Well i've made a start on doing the diff output shaft seals! Bit of a pain in the back the way the compacts rear end is designed.
Found it easier to drop the spare wheel assy, lower the exhaust a bit and disconnect the sway bar.

Those axles are stubborn as all hell when trying to knock them out of the diff shoot

Looking forward to doing the vanos and VCG as engines is more my thing, rather than rolling around on the floor getting crud in my eyes wink
Note to self: needs new rear tyres. again!!

Looks like the spitting image of mine at 140k - who says long-life servicing is ruinous? laugh

Bit of an odd request, but does anyone have a spare set of good pre-cat lambdas I might be able to have a cheeky lend of?

I'm trying to chase out an odd rich misfire when really hot, but I don't really want to spunk £200 on a new set if it's not the issue.

Hey guys,

Hope you are all doing well?

I have read this whole thread probably twice within the past 2 years and I'm a huge Compact fanboy.

I've owned my 325ti for about a year and a half now and I absolutely adore it!

I recently did a review on my car and I thought I would share it with you guys.

Thanks for the awesome thread, it's helped me alot with gathering info in the Ti models and getting to know the cars a bit better.

Just spotted the following. Fairly pricy, auto and a weird colour but I love the interior! (steering whee excluded)

That steering wheel does look strange!

And it doesn't have the storage compartment in the rear parcel shelf, which I thought was really handy.

It certainly isn't cheap and seems a strange colour combination, but how many are there now with that sort of mileage?

It’s just got the non Sport/M sport steering wheel. Also notice it has the electric memory seats and mirrors plus the electric folding mirror option

Should have the storage portion parcel shelf with umbrella holder but it’s just been replaced at some point with a normal one - maybe as faded in the sun

Ah it's an umbrella holder! Mine is missing the brolly.

Don’t think they came standard ......and it was an expensive brolly!

Any normal golf umbrella will fit though

My 2001 model didn't come with the fancy parcel shelf. I bought one, realised I didn't like it, so kept it in the garage for ages. I chucked it in a skip the other day... boxedin

Mine came without, managed to get one on eBay for about £20 delivered which was a bargain. It's tatty, but so's the rest of the car laugh

Just had to order a new handle for mine
Tyre fitter broke it forcing the boot shut with tyres in the boot, bending the shelf
Why he didn't just ask for me to remove it is beyond me confused
