I only fit gen BMW ones after I’d had Lemforder ones fail prematurely and subsequently replaced under warranty.

If you want more solid ones you can press Z4M offset bushes into your old housings. This gives more caster. I’ve not tried them.

You can pull the old bushes off by hand and slide the new ones on. I use barrier cream to slide them on.

I check the old bush position, it’s it correct I centre punch a mark where the edge of the bush sits and slide the new bush on to the mark.

After mullering a set of pads very quickly on my last track day I'm after a cheap brake upgrade. Am I right in thinking the 330i brakes are bigger? I dont find the brakes lacking in stopping power but a larger disc might help them not get so hot when being abused.

I think the E46 330i and 330ds have bigger front discs, but you also need compatible caliper mounts (and at least 17" wheels)!

Yeah I was banking on calipers & carriers and I need discs and pads anyway so thought it'd be perfect timing. I run 17s too so thats not an issue. I'll have to get hunting ready for track season

To be honest, I got new discs and pads, done Donnington & Rockingham then needed new pads again. I went straight to Silverstone with new pads and they were metal on metal after the day. In fairness the car was suppose to be split between two of use but my mates car broke so we had three of us in it, the car didn't have a huge amount of down time tbh.

They performed well enough and if I was only doing the odd track day then they'd be fine but I think the extra diameter with some decent pads will work better for me.

I need to look at shedding some weight too, although I'm conscious not to upset the balance by ripping the rear seats out and doing nothing else.

Been commuting in mine this week after my 328ci has lost it's speedo and driver aids.

I forgot how much I've missed a sunroof, especially this time of year. Just tilted it's very pleasant.

I also saw another compact. a 2004 blue one with xenons. We both waved to each other. hehe

How is everyone else's cars getting on?

Eek! eek

I have seen you before, but it's always too quick of a passing to wave. smile

Max, my compact has had an M3 one as long as I've had it. 40,000 miles, no worries.

I could be pursuaded, mines a low mileage pre facelift we, 2002, 80,000 miles. Its pretty tidy and used very irregularly.

My apologies, I'm only looking for a facelift because of the extra gear.

No problem, it's a good idea especially for motorway driving.

Do you mean a standard M3 one or this alloy thing?

We've been to Cadwell this week. 300 miles in a day including about 110 on the track...the EML kindly flashed up on the way home though it’s still running ok & was great on track with the ADO8rs on. Technical issues prevent me loading a pic currently.
