I'm about to purchase one of these as my daily runaround.

What's the latest on dealer discounts. I've contacted both TNS and Arden?

Are people getting the finance discount on top also?
Best dealer discounts are 13% (including against OTR costs, service pack etc). On top of that you'll get 3.75K BMW contribution if taking out finance (3K for the m240i). When the finance contribution is factored in, you should be looking for around 24% off a basic 140 manual and around 21% off a well-optioned 140 auto (as the more expensive the list price, the less the finance contribution averages down the price). You can cancel the finance deal within 14 days without penalty (other than a couple of quid a day interest) and keep the contribution. A well-optioned 240 auto should be about 20% off.

TRL seems to offer around 13%, though the OTR costs are not discounted.

Ow, nice price! Have you gone for a PCP deal, if so can I ask what the monthlies are on that?
It's £2k down and £362 a month on a 3 year PCP. I think on a 4 year deal it would be more like £330-335 a month with the same deposit.

Terry Linford (Terry.Linford@ardenbmw.co.uk) at Arden BMW Maidstone is currently doing the best deals in the country right now (better than TRLs). Quite a few folk from baby BMW are starting to buy from him now. He took a total off £9k off which is equivalent to 24% off OTR price. Give him a try!

Terry at Arden quoted on my M240i, offered a good price certainly but it didn't quite match TRL's quote so don't take that as gospel smile

The best approach with Terry is to show him TRL's quote and ask him to beat it like I did. He knocked off £1k further for me that way. Otherwise at the end of the day he's just a dealer and as usual with dealers, their first quote is never their best if they don't have a benchmark smile

Fair enough, could TRL not match it then or didn't you try?

I went back to TRL and he couldn't match it and told me to bite Terry's hand off...so I did!

On a well specced m140i that on the bmw configuration I get to £37,200 I'm being quoted £419 per month with zero deposit and 8k milage pa. I think the discount being offered is around 5k.

I'm thinking the discount being offered is much lower than I originally thought.

Sytners were doing £319 deposit £319/month 48 months 8000 miles on a basic manual 5 door

I got a 240 convertible auto, heated seats, pro nav, metallic, coloured roof, harmon kardon for £449/ month 48 months 8000 miles and £1500 deposit, not sure if mine was a good deal or not, but yours definitely doesnt sound good.

Just emailed them. They're knocking off much more before the bmw finance contribution. Thanks. I'll let you know what they come back with.

All ordered. Will be using this as my daily driver and for daughter transport purposes. Ended up getting £7,850 off list. Not bad on a list of £30,436.

Arrives March sometime. Looking forward to driving a manual car again. Will post a picture or two when it arrives. Thanks for the help.

Picked mt 240 up a week ago. For what it is it's epic probably dont want to hear that as march is quite a way away but your in for a long wait and a pretty big treat.

On 500 miles not touched sport mode and getting 25mpg where my z4 28 was getting 27mpg. Only thing i am a little disappointed in is the hk stereo, really good when turned up but doesnt have the subtleties of a really good system at low volume. But then a lot better at all levels than the standard one on the z4

Anyone gone for the service pack? Dealer said it was £299 for 3yr/36000miles. Service interval is 18000, so in theory you get 2 services at around £300 1st and £400 2nd? Is service interval fixed at 18k or variable? Trying to work out if worth bothering or not, seems to be about same cost as first service so not much to lose even if don't get 2nd?

I've got the service pack on mine but it's from back when it was 5-years

Not sure I'd bother with the current one as the interval is variable, for lower mileage users it will likely call for a service on the cars 2nd anniversary then brake fluid on the 3rd anniversary. The second service won't be due until year 4 by which point your plan will have expired
