Yeah I was thinking this might be better as I cant be sure its fitting right to the bottom of the inner recess part, I think it is but not sure, also this was how the original cap was attached anyway.Obviously need to be careful with the breather hole.

Update on mine, I sealed it around the inner edge of the cap with no liquid gasket on the diaphragm part and so far seems to be running well, the slightly lumpy idle at start up seems to have gone now.

Hi, made an account just to ask this. So essesntially all you need to do is place the membrane in the cap, apply rtv around the inner edge of the cap (where the yellow arrow was pointing on your previous post) then place it on the valve cover, tighten the small screws and let it cure for 24hours? I just want to make sure i do it correctly the first time when my cap arrives. Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

Then put a line of liquid gasket around the inner edge where the yellow arrow was, pushed it on with the breather hole at the top, so its easily accessed (I pushed the allen key through to make sure it wasn't blocked with liquid gasket after tightening it up), then tightened as many screws as I could.
Left it for 24 hours with a brick on top.
So far I haven't had the dodgy idle again since, so hopefully it lasts!

Update on mine, seems to still be going fine and have noticed a considerable drop in oil it's using!
Still have a slight leak that drips on the exhaust and smells when first started, but not enough to be concerned about (yet)
Still reading max level of oil a good few thousand Kms later, whereas before it regularly needed a liter added every so often.
