Really been enjoying my car today, took the gf and her kids shopping then down the m1 to a nice pub for a nice meal.

Car was an absolute pleasure to drive and a great place to be, these things are brilliant motors. I can only imagine how good one would be in automatic and petrol form.

The m sport suspension also makes for brilliant handling, I've been throwing this thing about like it's a fiesta, not a big saloon car.

As for rattles... I don't know if it's just me but I checked the tyre pressures for first time since I bought it, one front tyre was under inflated, the other was over inflated. One rear tear was almost right and the other under inflated. I corrected them all to the right levels and since then I've had hardly any creaks from the dash. It may just be coincidence and Down to the road surface etc..., Either way the car handled even better with the tyres done properly.

While on the motorway I was also thinking what else I could have bought that met my needs and had similar mileage to the F10, nothing else stacked up, all your passata, Mondeo, insignias, Hyundai i40, Mazda 6, just can't touch the BMW. Mercedes e class, they look nice but in my opinion the interior is a bit more old fashioned, the Audi A6 a stunning car, I would buy one, but with my budget it would have done 90k not 50k.

Very happy man today. Will be less happy in a few months when I hand over 550 quid to BMW for a service lol.

I know where you could buy a hen.

Something somewhat older than an F10, but we had a persistent dash rattle on our 2005 E91. Sounded like it was coming from the area of the center air vents. I managed to remove the piece of fake wood trim that runs the full width of the passenger side of the dash (which also encompasses the air vents and start button).

Just the act of prising this piece of trim off, and then firmly re-attaching it, has completely solved the rattle. Happy days, because with the 6 cylinder petrol engine it purrs along in silence at motorway speeds now. If I had a newer car with some warranty left, I'd probably want the dealership to fix it though.

Again, going back a few years further than your F10 - but ours occasionally has the clutch judder too, so it's not something new smile If its any consolation, it did it when we first got the car 8 years ago. It still does it today, but it's not got any worse.

The occasional clutch judder is not a problem. To be honest I think it was mostly just me adjusting to a new car.

The creaking dash is really annoying me. I mentioned it to BMW servicing and of course they just want 90 quid for an engineer to do a road test where he will tell me... Yes there is a creaking from the dash, we either need to strip it down to find the cause or replace the dash at a cost of twenty thousand pounds plus fitting.

I really need a solution.

Have you actually spent some time trying to narrow it down as to where it is coming from? Is there some junk in the glovebox or key box/money box or are the keys rattling?
Do you have something in the cup holder fallen down (I had that the other week Tesco clubcard as it happens found he source noise gone.

Anything in the side pockets passenger or drivers which is rattling?
What about under the seats

Else turn the radio up to mask it.

Have you recorded the sound? If so why not post a link to that here maybe someone has had similar and can help? Or maybe people will say that’s normal. Could save you £90-£20,000 from BMW.
