FWIW, I don't think your concerns are foolish , but if the cars going to be your daily driver and you're happy with everything else either buy it because on the balance of probability it's sound or find another.

After a lot of painful telephone calls with dealers, BMW UK came up trumps and have tracked down a first service at 16k which is amazing so I have bought the car.
