Does the ECU record when the service indicator is reset through a car's life?
Yes I know on the carly app you can reset various service requirement stuff and there is a historical count
Interesting. Which models does this work on?

Each to their own. Never been a fan of lots of chrome, especially if the rest is shadow line.
Have to agree. Sadly I'm not convinced that the black grille works on Le Mans blue tho hence why mine still has the turd chrome. Id like a smoked chrome really but no idea where I might sort that

YEah but you need an additional adapter for the pre 2004 cars. I've just bought it as my daughter has an e46

My E90 has black grilles. I assumed this was something to do with the high gloss shadow line option? The only exterior chrome bits are the model badge and the front grille surrounds. OK, and maybe the exhaust pipes were chrome at one point too.

My car is Le Mans blue, and it doesn't look bad to me, but I did prefer the chromed grilles on my E46... I think. I'd have to see them in situ to be sure.

Mine has shadowline trim but came with chrome kidney grill. Did anything actually leave the factory with black grills?

I think the black grilles are aftermarket BMW performance parts. They're on realOEM etc as such.

No E90/1/2/3 did.

Here's a pic from earlier, freshly washed....

Think I might pick up some gloss grilles at some point, because from some angles the matte black just looks weird!

Stunning colour and the darker wheels really set it off!

Seeing your photo, the black grill itself doesn’t look too bad, but I can’t cope with the black bonnet bits that IMO look a bit like a moustache.

Very basic and old, it is nearly 13 years old and so not used very much. If he likes it and it runs well it might be a reasonable buy though. Not a lot of money.

If it was a manual I'd be all over it.

If you don't care about leather, i-drive, big wheels etc then the spec is probably fine.

Like.

At such low mileage you need to check the history - things like brake fluid might be overdue. The tyres could be old, too and in need of replacement. It needs the recall work doing, but then so do all the others. Spec wouldn't bother me. Leather would be nice to have but you can address that if you're that bothered, I can do well without electric wotsits and i-drive.

For £4k that's a great way to get about IMO. If anything, it's too cheap.

As above, it were manual there'd be lots of people all over it.

Thanks for the thoughts.

If I'm honest, with a car of this age, the miles, history and condition are far more important that the base spec.

It's got full history with everything done on time apparently. Also the water pump was done last year (£600 he said it cost)

Re price - to me it seems very cheap. I'd have expected a 5995 type of price for the miles and that magnificent N52 sitting under the bonnet.

What do you say? Buy?

I'm struggling for a reason to say "No"......

Wave four grand at him and drive away. Quickly........Giggling.
