Need to get a spare alloy that will fit both my e91 330i and the wife's F20 125i with 4pots.

Looking on the styles list I see that the offsets for each are:

E91 - 34 (front)
F20 - 45 (fr)

Anyone got any suggestions for something that will fit from the oem range? Will only be for emergencies e.g. when you buckle a run on a pothole and need the original repaired furious

Pretty sure 5 series have larger centre bores too so take that into consideration.

No

All same size except e39 and I think original x5.

This just happened- a loud bang, with my family in the car and, voila

Probably the IBS, I think- anyone have this experience already and what did you have to replace? The car still has power. I have an auto electrician coming to look at it (and the condition of the B+ cable- car not covered by recall).

I think the battery safety cable can be repaired with a BMW repair part. I am in no way meaning to criticise any wiring on the car but it looks like an extra 12v connection has been added, not sure if that could have contributed to the failure. The ibs part is on the negative lead.

Looks like your car is pre IBS, I’m guessing it’s pre 03/07 which is when I think it arrived on the E91 etc.

So it seems like this is the B+ cable explosive charge going off (supposed to happen in an accident) and that our car doesn't have a negative terminal IBS! New positive bang off thingy needed and more importantly, I wonder why it happened in the first place?

Cheers Helix! That could be a feed for the BMW Alpine amp and speaker upgrade? Only thing we've added. Thanks for taking a look.

The amp wiring probably isn’t an issue, I think you need something like this for the repair:

This is slightly modified and an additional lead is needed (all this is based on me looking at one pic and and a quick look on realoem so may not be accurate).

Had a few instances of the VVT chuckung up a code.
Ordered a pair of solenoids of fleabay which turned up while I was out in LeMans.
Fitted them this morning before going to work, all good.
However on a trip out later this evening, the EML came on and the car started to judder and stall'
I knew the original fault was exhaust side so replaced the inlet one with the old one that I cleaned .

Its now ok, so mail sent to seller on solenoid that lasts 14 miles...

Hi Guys

Just seeking some opinions here with regard to my BMW E91 330i (N52) with just 25k miles.

I'm thinking of selling it despite it being one of the best cars I've owned for years.

I've not owned it long as people on this thread will know but I'm struggling a little with it - One of my children is wheelchair bound and despite the chair easily going into the boot, I struggle getting him seated in the car.

It's been fine up to know but I pulled my back recently and I think I need to face reality and go for something like an X5 where I dont have to bend low when lifting him in.

Soooo - It's done only 25k miles, FSH and two keepers before me (pre reg to BMW and second elderly owner from 2007 until 2018.

It's an SE in Sapphire black with only modest options - pro radio, bluetooth, black leather, sport steering wheel and the rather nice large alloys.

The very best thing though is it's a 2006 N52 Manual!

What is the best price to pitch it on PH/AT websites?

If you do sell it, I'd be tempted depending on price - we have a 325i in the same colour/SE spec (but like yours, with a few "sport" extras), and it's been a great car. It had already covered more than 25k miles the day we bought it 9 years ago - yours must feel very fresh to drive. Has it ever had the water pump done?

Not an easy question as it's something unique with not much to compare against.

A "Normal" 330i Man is anywhere from £5-7k depending on spec, mileage etc.

BMW specialists are placing significant premiums on cars like these but you never really know how long they hold them and what they sell for.

I would guess somewhere £6-7k would sell and there's headway for being more ambitious if you're patient.

Sort of related - I see an E90 325i can be had for £2500 now. Talk me out of buying one and throwing £4ks worth of Birds suspension and new bushes at it biggrin

Thanks for the reply.

I would have hoped for more than that with the miles and condition. It really does look a couple of months old. Theres not even a single stonechip!

If I sold then having researched recently a bit I would probably advertise for 8.5 and see what happens. I think that if someone wants one then finding comparable one would be nigh on impossible.

I'm minded to sell as I feel an SUV is the right thing for me at the moment frown

Agree, hence the patience element. One of the specialist dealers would probably ask nearer £10k. It's just a question of whether you can wait for the person who might look for such a thing to arrive.

Lovely example if the mileage is genuine, I will send you a pm, I specialise in E91’s and would be happy to help you achieve as high a resale price as possible via my website and also help you source a suitable replacement.

These petrol 330i E91 manuals are fantastic cars and so rare to find a low mileage one.m
One thing your car really would benefit from is sports (front) seats which is a simple upgrade and makes a huge difference to how the car feels.

I joined the club at the start of May, having bought a 09 plate 325d SE touring.

Finished in Grey with a dakota brown leather (pretty much matches my wifes Citroen C2 Code color for colour inside and out!). 94k on the clock and FSH with the manual box, Had the run flats replaced with non run flats and a Slime compressor and bottle of goop, and new brake pads by the seller - has needed 2 wheel speed sensors since I got it, but these have been done under warranty.

I'm not a huge fan of the black headlining of an MSport (had it on an E46 320i a few years back) so looked for the SE, which feels much lighter inside. Also the ride is noticeably more comfortable on the slightly smaller rims.

Thanks. Yes the mileage is 100% genuine. Bourne out with FSH, MOT History, condition and the one owner before me (plus dealer pre reg) who owned from 2006 until 2018.

Never failed an MOT. It's never had an advisory either apart from once where tyres were cracking due to age
