I disagree, sports seats are much more supportive and adjustable. Having sat in both, I would go out of my way to find sport seats.
Fair enough, but if you had immaculate and relatively rare coloured non sport seats as pictured, would you bother trying to upgrade them as suggested?
I suggested it, having done this myself previously on 330i and 330d the standard SE seats in these cars are a bit rubbish, no lateral support very flat base, and you do move about it. It does transform how the car 'feels' for the driver. But as above the OP has a preference for these so that makes sense.

I did not mean change the colour of the seats obviously that would be silly, just find a pair of nice clean sport front seats and put them in (its quite easy to do especially if your seats are black).
Interesting - my E91 is an SE so has the "base" seats but as they are Lemon leather and heated I doubt I'd ever find a pair of Sport (or is that M-Sport) heated seats in that colour!

And even though I'm skinny I don't find them lacking in any way in my E91, although it is a daily - but I really wouldn't want anything other than M-Sport seats in my Z4 Coupe!

There were loads of cars with Lemon sport seats in them at the time. My 335i Touring was LeMans with Lemon.

They ran Lemon for about 5 years, then it changed to Oyster.

Problem you may have though is they will be at least 10 years old now so may need a respray if looking tired.

I have always gone for cars with sport seats, only ever owned one with non sport seats, which was in our 2010 X1, and didn't like them, mainly because the base didn't rise up enough at the front, under my knees.

The only sport seats I didn't like were on the 535d, just found them rubbish.
Oh, and on the F25 X3, really narrow base with a metal arch in the side bolster, apparently because lots of Americans were complaining the bolster was collapsing. So better to have a metal arch digging in your arse!! rolleyes

Recently picked up an LCI E61 530d SE, with a view to finding some beige sport seats, but have to say the seats in it are amazing!!! I mean really superb.
Comfy, loads of adjustment and makes me wonder if I have missed loads of decent cars previously because I thought all SE seats were rubbish and they're not.

Just spotted this. Looks fresh as seat is dry and it has been raining this morning.

Yes

Called auto glass. They said I'm a priority. Someone can't come till Thursday. Excess 100 quid.

Well I'm concerned it was thieves. I believe they have these plug in computer which bypass all security and then programme a new key to work. If that's what they are doing then it didn't work for some reason or they were disturbed. If it's the 2nd they may come back. Then my car will disappear. Check out my rain protector

Did they manage to open the door or was it still locked? Not sure you can reach the obd through that gap as half the window is still there.

Could it have been vandalism or some kind of freak accident?

No the doors were still locked. But this is how they steal them if they know what they're doing so it must be possible to reach the obd with the door locked. An area of the glass was cleared down to the window seal. Which looks like it was intentional to allow an arm to reach down to the obd.

I may have relocated my OBD port to somewhere less convenient...

Bad news ATM, is it just a window and nothing else? Hope they haven't got what they wanted, wait for you to fix the window, then pinch it.... Maybe time to get some old school steering wheel lock or something!? Hope you get it sorted.

Can you park it somewhere else for a bit and then just get an aftermarket heavy duty steering iron and ASAP reprogram the keys and at the same time fit an odb port bypass?

Looks like the window and nothing else. I'm worried now if you think they might come back once the window is fixed.

I find it tricky enough to access the ODB port wit the door open let alone try with it shut and poking through hole of broken glass!
Unless they have some way of powering the ECU via laptop how do they get round the lack of an ignition feed?
Cant have anything nice these days without worrying some scrote will try and have it away.

All I know is my mate's early e92 m3 was stolen in 2010 or 2011. They didn't take the keys. Car just disappeared and was never seen again. I did some googling and found out about this obd theft. Apparently thieves could smash the window and plug in ther computer. This was able to tell the car to open and reprogram a new key to the car. They then use this key to start the car and dive away. There was a lot of fuss about it all over the internet with people blaming BMW for this 'flaw'. BMW were a bit resistant but eventually released an update I think. I don't know if this update works or has been applied to my car. I suspsct the thieves are always one step ahead of the big manufactures anyway. Maybe I was foolish thinking they wouldn't bother stealing my 10 year old BMW but I guess that's wrong. And I've recently moved so I guess my new spot is a bit less salubrious.

Not just BMW's prone to it, lots of cars. They all have computers these days… If you search the relevant places (particularly foreign marketplaces and auction sites) there's a lot of key cloning (and without an original key needed) tools available. Only so long until an update gets hacked, so whilst an update might kee you safe for a while – I wouldn’t bet on it.

There’s all sorts of things like physically locking off your OBD port, putting a hidden switch in line so the OBD doesn’t work until you flick the switch, I’ve relocated mine elsewhere…then good old fashioned steering wheel locks. Different way of stealing cars to back when they had no computers and lots of mechanical bits…

Don’t forget the comfort access keyless signal cloning thing – where people boost the signal from the keys inside the house to gain access to the car, then go and clone a key and drive away. No smashed windows necessary…

Yeah – crap innit. I’m kinda hoping that my car is gradually getting less desirable to thieves – anyone who looks up the plate will see how leggy in miles it is, and it’s debadged so they’ll just think it’s a 320d…so no-one wants it hopefully!

Sorry to hear that ATM.
Zippy - have you accompanied it with a sticker on the window to prevent the window being broken? I guess a sticker would be good whether or not it's been moved/disabled

Ha Ha yeah I love those stickers on Vans saying nothing valuable left in here over night. Does anyone believe them?

When we rented a car in Naples many many years ago they told us to leave it unlocked so the thieves could have a look inside without damaging it.

No stickers! I just did it coz it wasn't expensive (took a bit of time though) and gave me a bit of peace of mind that i gave myself half a chance of the car not being pinched super easily. If they broke a window and then found it too much faff to go hunting for a hidden port that's not in the usual location, I'm only a window down and not a whole car. Or that's the sortof theory....

Not had to test the theory fortunately.

Is there an easy way to just disable the car. As in stop it working. Like pull out a fuel pump fuse or relay like I did with my old Fords?
