Could it be that your car has had a software update at some point that prevents it being stolen in that way? Alternatively, perhaps they were disturbed?

Is there an easy way to just disable the car. As in stop it working. Like pull out a fuel pump fuse or relay like I did with my old Fords?
The fuse box is waay fiddly in this!

In mine(n52) , you can unplug the throttle connection fairly easily and the car will be useless to drive - dunno how easily accessible it is to unplug in an n54.

You could I guess pull up the rear seat, go undo the four bolts to the access track for the fuel pump and unplug that. Do bear in mind when you unlock the car / open the door, the fuel pump primes so it's ready to fire, so you'd lose that when it's unplugged.

Both those are a faff too. Think my preferred would be an inline switch (that you hide) to the start engine button so you effectively can't start it until you flick that.

Let's hope the crooks haven't already done the cloning...

And where are you (roughly) in the country? We've got no rain here at all, it's Scorchio!

Wheel clamp? Steering lock?

It is really shocking that these are big targeted, I reckon they might have been looking for a car for a 'job'. Quick, discreet/ubiquitous and plenty of space to store whatever.

Gutted for ATM! eek

I hope he can get it sorted and have no more attention from scrotes.

Luckily mine is only a 325i, so hopefully less of a target - I mean it's 12 years old now!

Manual N52 330i touring M sport with this mileage has got to be rare.

Looks good. Needs a service. Which is £50 well spent. (Oil and filter)

A pretty rare car with that mileage and only 1 previous owner, but it's not cheap!

In any case I'm not a fan of silver, and I'd want leather seats too - the more 330i adverts I see the more I realise that buying a 325i saved me loads. rolleyes

There's a reason for the price difference though.

That looks like a lovely buy for someone. If I were looking I'd be all over it

Per your pricing question, there's another reference point. You could ask a chunk more IMO.

Yeah, I guess that is a good reference point.

I've just picked up a mint Pathfinder to use as my daily. The total opposite of the 330i ie noisy, slow and chunky.

I'm minded to keep the 330i as it's such a nice one but then again we are looking to move house so the funds may well be needed according to the director of operations and finance laugh

Yeah I'm buying a disklok. They seemed the best in terms of strength and visual deterrent.

Hello gents. New member and my first BMW so go gently please.
Picked this up a couple of weeks ago...330i m sport N52 manual. It’s fairly leggy at 130k but water pump, shocks, plugs, coils brakes inc lines all replaced by the previous owner within the last 10k. I’ve done around 800 miles of motorway, A and B roads since collection and it all seems very well screwed together. The ride on Hankook evo 2’s is very assured and the right side of firm. Only thing I can’t spot in the bmw history is a transmission fluid change so that will be done shortly.
I am loving the straight 6 after 4k revs. The manual box is taking some readjustment but seems to reward a more considered approach to changing gear! The m sport chunky wheel and leather seats feel perfect for me. All in all I’m a very happy punter right now.

Lovely - a 330i Sport in a colour. thumbup

BMW don't schedule changing the transmission fluid - it's filled for life according to them!

But many (including me) reckon it is worth having it changed.
