The only thing to really think about is the size of the brakes and if the wheels will fit over them, think the smallest I can have is 17 inch, but not sure if 16 inches could fit in the 325i or 330i.
17s should be fine across the entire range though.
I think some OEM 17 do not fit the 335i but otherwise you're right. 17s should be fine across the entire range though.

17s fit on the rear of the 335i but not the front.
There are lots of 335i out there on 17 inch wheels the 335i have bigger disks and calipers than 330i but they do fit under 17" wheels as used on the 330 325 and lesser models. Ive had 335i running on 17, 18 and 20 inch BMW wheels, they drive best on 17 inch. One of mine was on 225/45/17's all round which made it quite fun as it was easy to provoke a bit of oversteer, most do run wider rears.Edited by rallycross on Sunday 23 December 00:33

Yes, 17s should work on all of them. 17s should be fine across the entire range though.
But 16s work on a 325i - that's what my winters are.
330s have bigger front discs so need 17s.

I have been toying with changing to 17s (if I keep the car), which did you have? Edited by rallycross on Sunday 23 December 00:33

Here are two of my 335 on 17"sIt came on these from the factory which I later upgrade to the elipsoid 18's that were on a 330i I took in p/x which it then looked better but was better ride on the smaller wheels (and cheaper for winter tyres on 17").
original wheels
then changed to these

Just gave the new 330i a quick clay bar, polish and finished with Poorboys Black Hole glaze. The front end has quite a few stone chips but comes up quite well regardless

New tyres fitted, recommended sized Falken Azenis FK453's, not Michelins by any means but decent, hopefully these won't succumb to potholes like the set that were on there when I bought it

It was a toss up between the Falkens and Vredestein Ultrac Vortis. Long story short I have it on good authority that the Vortis are much better than the Falkens for outright grip. I decided to go for the Falkens as I've had them before on my e46 m3 and liked them, plus about £65 saving, not much but..
I rate them but tyres are a devise subject as we know on here!

And you have put a deposit on it?
Blimey.
The last time I had Falkens I had FK453s on our 3 series all round after the recommendations.
They were ste!!
Noisy, hard and just a st all round.
Yeah. Shame that it's a brand new tyres too. Mismatched are one of my pet hates on cars, especially only having one random one.Blimey.

You can get a decent part worn for £70 so I'm not too bothered. Or I'll just wear them all out and get PS4s
Oooh, I just realised, it was FK452s I had that were bad.
I then got a set of 17's which had FK453s on them already, I was going to swap them over and they were actually pretty good. They were so much better than the FK452s that felt no better than the Michelin Run Flats I had before comfort and noise wise.

I've had PS4's on mine for the last 20ish k miles, was pretty happy with them. After I destroyed some PS2's on the rear, and wasn't sure if I'd sorted suspension problems I put some Vred Ultrac Sessanta's on them, and was dead impressed. I'm now on Vred all round and it's all pretty good.
Latest tinkering I've been doing is building up some new rear hubs. Rather than just swapping wheel bearings, as the hubs were a bit shot and I had to weld the ball joint in as a stop gap to the tolerance being too large due to the polybushes...

But I'm now polybush free:

So I bought some replacement hubs (these are over £500/ea from BMW without the bushing or bearings). De-rusted, rust converted, epoxy coated, new OE bushings, new OE bearings, and even lacquered the hubs. New dust shields and handbrake holding gubbins, and new Febi Bilstein drive flanges. Still work in progress - but I should just be able to swap them over easy peasy. Current wheel bearings are totally goosed, but I expect they're the originals and have done over 205k miles...!

Also worth noting that the 453 has now been superseded by the 510 so that tyre will undoubtedly be another step forward. I saw they'd been updated after I bought the 453s!
Again though I'm more than happy with the Falkens at the price point.
Had the alignment done on a Hunter this morning, wasn't horrendous before but drives better now and slowly cruising around in the christmas eve rush was very relaxing, great car.
