Cloth seats + Chrome window surrounds = odd spec.

Now 13995

It's alacantara interior, not cloth. Rarer than leather and preferable to some.

The shadow chrome can creak whereas the normal chrome doesn't, so maybe they chose the chrome?
Who knows as it is cat d so anything could have been changed. It's just a bit odd - i think - having carbon bits, smoked windows and chrome.

As much as i like the E91s, that's strong money!

£3k more gets you into an M135i with similar mileage and 5+ yrs newer

Shame it hasn't got a black interior but its still bleddy lovely. Sensibly priced too. If I wasn't working away I'd be seriously tempted to swap my 3.0i Z4 for that as it never gets used any more since kids happened.

I would guess it's been sold already, at that price. Sometimes they literally sell 'same day', and often BMW Independent Specialists will snap them up for stock, if well priced. I'd not be surprised if that one resurfaces somewhere like Jason Barker, James Paul or Bedford Specialist Cars in a week or so at £14995.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view) the M135i should naturally put a bit of a ceiling on prices of petrol six E91s. That car introduces the benefit of the ZF8 gearbox. Yes, the boot is smaller, but it's still practical with five doors and folding seats. A lot of folk can't live with the looks, but it's a good car to drive and of course a huge amount of them are out there which makes it a buyers market compared to chasing E91 335i .

Others may feel differently and shoot my opinion down in a "no comparison on quality and looks" kind of response. It's a fair point.

I've now bought an F31 340i privately, however my feelings are a bit mixed when I compare to my E90 N55. I'm persevering with it for now and it's early days for me only having done a few hundred miles in the car.

I recognise the name from the E61 V8 thread. You had one of those right? How do you feel the E91 335i compares and was yours lci and auto?

I had (still have) a 335i LCI E90 manual. I’ve had the same previously too, but N54 manual. The older car is a bit more involving than the F30 series. I reckon the F30 on half decent tyres will be a bit more refined. You can’t hear the engine very well on the newer car.

Used to have a 550i LCI E61 hence on the other thread from time to time. I felt that was a better car than the F10 version in a few areas too.

As things stand I have a 335i and a 340iT; the intention was for the new car to replace the old, as you’d expect. I might actually sell the 340iT and continue on with the older car. I’m not sure yet. I might sell both!

So, Sachs or Bilstein for new shocks? Anyone got a view or is it likely to be much of a muchness?

Not a lot of difference, unless you go for B6/8 Bilstein.

I couldn't like the F30. I think you'll end up keeping the E91 or selling both!

Hey Zippy

Did you ever do the rear on yours?

I'm tying my head in knots with all the different parts that make up the rear. It's like a Meccano set back there!

Yup - more fuller write up here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Anything that I didn't replace then has since been replaced (except shocks absorber top mounts, which I've got and waiting for a sunny day as they started very lightly clunking the other week!) It wasn't a particularly cheap exercise, but they weren't cheapo parts I used and I obviously had a massive improvement! The BMW "kits" are actually quite good value when they include all the fixings etc.

If you want any particular advice, or want to see my particular shopping list, PM me with your email or something.

Cheers Zipz, much appreciated.

List on CP4L so far has come to £750 and that doesn't include the rear shocks (CP4L helpfully haven't identified the MSport version).

That leaves 2 rear control arms, shock repair kits, balljoint repair kits etc and fixings from BMW.

This is going to cost me a bleedin' fortune!
