Looks good! Don’t rule out basics for the reverse lights such as bulbs and reverse light switch.

The bulbs are fine - the car throws faults for the lights not working but after a Google it seemed to suggest the module is more common than the switch (after a quick diagnostic there was a mention on the hand held of a short circuit too)

Another thing I didn't mention is that a couple of times I put my foot down, the red (P) brake warning showed up. I didn't think to check the fluid level, but it could be this. The handbrake also needs adjusting or replacment parts but I doubt this is linked.

Rear wheel looks too far into the arch. Has it got the right rims in the right corners?

£1000 seems silly VFM. You could replace the whole suspension and sort all the issues and still be ahead.

It might be coz of square setup vs staggered?

Good spot. Will check that as I also noticed a tyre advisory on the last MOT for 225 on the rear which I thought was odd!

Tbf I'm not sure if E90s came on "square" 18s. MVs should be staggered though? IMO, that's got fronts on the rear.

Had a quick look and I think 18s (and possibly 17s, too) are staggered only.

Yes, from my experience of BMWs I would have thought any original 18s would be staggered - 17s might be, but might not (my E46 320td had square 17s, my E46 325ti Sport had staggered 17s).

But it could be someone has fitted 4 fronts if the car has 18s the same size front and rear.

Still my E91 325i SE has square 16s! rolleyes (But winter tyres, which might prove handy just now). laugh

Not near my car at the moment, but the tyre pressure sticker thingy by the door gives you the options. I remember a square setup on them, but stock 18 M sport are staggered. I do have a friend who bought an SE with MV3 wheels on it - they're square setup - and they don't know anything about cars!

I think all sports come with staggered. Even the 17 inch.

They did. 17, 18 and 19 wheel options were all staggered, with the standard wheel for the six cylinder saloon cars being the 18". So if the back wheels are running 225 section tyres they're not the correct ones. Although not as common as the 19" wheels, the MV3 wheels do crack, so someone may have replaced them at some point and gone with a pair of front wheels. Loads of used ones knocking about now these cars are starting to hit the breakers/scrappage schemes so not really an issue.

ETA - Just noticed that this car started life as an SE model and had the M Sport bits retrofitted. In which case the wheels could either be 4 xFront Wheels Size, or replica wheels. Remember loads of replicas back in the day as people were fitting them to E46.

My SE has 17"s square all round. You see quite often on eBay the non staggered sets. Rears on the ones I bought are 255. Will be interesting to see the change in ride and handling. Might run on the rfts for comparison first.

My factory-fit 17s were certainly not staggered

Loads of the wheel options for the SE had a 'square' setup. The standard M Sport wheels were staggered though. This car is an SE with a M Sport Bod kit retrofitted though, so there wheels won't be the ones that originally came with the car anyway.

Snow... by Chris Reeves, on Flickr

Snow's higher up than the splitter. It really acted like a snow plough last time I drove it in the snow, and there was less of it than there is now.

I'm back driving a Beemer after a few years away, such a nice place to be. This is my 325i SE Auto 2006 with 72k paint work needs a good detail and I've put the MV3 wheels on as the stock 17's were a little soft looking. A really lovely drive loads of history and loads of go in sports mode.

We may be moving to Canada in the next few months which would require selling our E91 and was wondering where you'd price it should the time come?

It's a 2009 (LCI) manual 330i M Sport with 65k, 8 mths left on the BMW comprehensive warranty which I believe is transferrable to the new owner, full BMW service history, grey with black leather, no nav, heated seats or xenons. There really aren't many data points out there in the classifieds to work off!

Will be a shame to see it go and replaced with a Pickup - at least I'll get to check owning a V8 off the list.

A shame to replace it with a pick-up - hell I wouldn't be disappointed to get a V8 pick-up as a replacement if I lived in Canada!

In 1977 I went to Manitoba to stay with some relatives and got to use their 5.7 litre V8 F100 that was about 2 years old - and even had a manual gearbox! It was great - but their 6.6 litre Chrysler was better still, even if it was an auto. laugh

Sadly I can't help much with your E91 - I bought one last week but really didn't want an LCI because of the N53 engine issues. rolleyes
