Thanks for the response and the links to those cars. The E91 has had the price adjusted to reflect the mileage adjustment....that doesn't sound great does it.
Still battling the insurance company on the valuation.

probably doesnt help but there is a manual one on ebay now, 150k miles for £6000

So realistically this car has 200,000 miles as someone knocked 25k off...which makes you wonder what else isn't straight with the car.

Good spot. On closer looking the displays in the instrument cluster don't look 'right'. Hopefully prospective buyers looked at the mileage discrepancy in the MOTs too.

Just watch out on mileage discrepancies in MOTs. Mine has one because one year they type a 3 instead of a 1 and so in one year on rockets from a 10k/yr avge to 30k in the year and then loses 10k the following year...

And of course you can't change it literally unless you spot it at the time rolleyes

@g3org3y

The oil filter cover made a nice difference to the hesitation, but I still had cold start issues with the odd stall. 2A82 code was still present, so I ordered a vanos solenoid (intake only) from BMW Cotswold.

Fitted and test driven today, noticeable difference with mpg improvement, and no more lumpy idle and stall in cold start.

I will monitor and see if the code comes back. Am thinking how long before I need to change the exhaust vanos solenoid.

Was the digital compass in the rear view mirror ever considered a rare option. It's pretty pointless, yet pretty neat at the same time.

Popped the glass hatch with the manual release today, 12v at the wiring but no continuity from the microswitch, as I had guessed it has failed totally as a result of water ingress.

HI All, popping in for my monthly check in! In suffolk here, all snowy and been down a few days in the freezing cold but main roads fun, if I was braver and not currently changing careers, I'd probably have a bit of a mess about in the snow - lack of LSD really does let it down though!

Fulla - really sorry to hear about your manual 335i, given the rarity of it, and you know your car (second hand ones can be very variable as to how well they've been looked after), I agree that you should try and save it if you can given the damage is cosmetic only. Depending on your situation and the efforts you're prepared to go to, there should still be a decent chunk of value with an N54 and driveline should it come to that.

Odd one today. Opened the car to put my silica dehumidifier back on the dash after "recharging" it. I've just noticed the dash display is illuminated several hrs later. Doesn't change when you start the car either and try going through the menus.

What do we think? A bit of electrical silliness if the batteries not quite fully charged? I haven't had chance yet to move the car so I can leave it charging overnight. It's just had a few hours 2 Saturdays ago.
Swervin - you worked this out, or just a random anomaly?

I have logic 7, I'm not an audiofile but can appreciate the difference between tinny crap speakers and reasonable quality ones. I think I'm pretty near mid for all the settings and if I'm tweaked, I'm only one or two off in the +ve direction...hopefully give you a starting place? I find for adjusting audio, classical music works well as it tends to use the full range of frequencies.

Hi Zips

Yes thanks - just the low battery. Fully cycled it on the CTEK, and now we're right as rain again cool The dash sorted itself overnight one night after having charged the battery.

Now I have low battery warnings on my keys though laugh I need to remember to look into if/how they can be charged - must be fairly simple as I assume it's just inductive.

They should normally charge in the socket when using the key, however if you're not using the car that much some people have had success using an electric toothbrush charging stand to charge the key. They use a rubber band to hold the key to it. smile

I'm amazed that my keys still work as well as they do. They have lithium batteries don't they? How is a 15 year old lithium battery still working so well?!

I know it's not an E91, but came across this in my search notifications. Would value any feedback, bar the cost which seems a bit on the high side. I'd prefer a manual but haven't seen one with as low miles in a good while. My criteria are heated seats and pro nav.

Terrible advert. It’s an auto at the start of the description and a manual at the end with a load of old cobblers in between. Why no interior photos?

The seller also has a different car with an identical description:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-BMW-330I-M-SPORT-A...

Although it's reassuring that:

INTERIOR LOOKS LIKE IT LEFT THE FACTORY.

I HATE it when they leave the interior in the factory.

That one has a great colour combination and the earlier N52 engine, but it certainly isn't cheap!

I paid less than half that for my 107K mile manual 55 plate 330iSE two years ago that came with a 2nd set of wheels fitted with winter tyres.

It's a great car, just a shame I haven't been able to use it much for the last year. frown
