The U hose that was mentioned above (that joins the waterpump and the thermostat).

Part number: 11537521049

#1 on here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=EH32...
Thanks, absolutely makes sense to change that while the stat and pump are being replaced.

Chasing some oddities on my 330d. The front ride height appears to be rather low, especially in comparison to the rear. I can see in early 2020 the previous owner spent a decent amount of money on refreshing the suspension.

I can see Sachs 627112830 springs have been fitted, but I think these are for the petrol equivalent.

Realoem comes up blank for front coil part numbers against my vin.

I would prefer to get the "correct" springs fitted or can anyone recommend any springs that have near equivalent ride height as the standard m sport springs?

BMW Cotswold have quoted me £220.

Shocks can also affect ride height. Not sure exactly why so just guessing but isn't it something to do with preload.

Eibach do a few different kits which have different drops. IIRC, the least aggressive of those is close to "M-Sport".

I bought Sachs springs for my 335d from AUTODOC. I researched the spec exactly and they seem to be the correct match (not fitted them yet but confident they will be ok). If you’re patient I’ll have a set of used built up front 335d struts for sale when I replace mine with Bilsteins. AUTODOC have quite a choice of Sachs springs with options for SE/Sport/ manual/auto etc.

I have checked the springs I bought. They are listed as suitable for the 330dA M Sport Touring too. Obviously check yourself to be sure. Pics below:

I'd agree with Ferris and Helix. If Costwold do a good price i'd use them. Since it's from the VIN they'll be the right springs and you won't have the 'snapped springs' look.

I’m running Eibach Pro on my N57 325d, which are very close to M Sport. Fronts are currently sat at 350mm from centre of centre cap to wheel arch.

ECP want £389!

I've ordered the German one.

Let us know how you get on with import tax etc.

Which hose did you order? I've got a replacement radiator top hose ready to install as it's starting to look a bit worse for wear around the connection to the engine. I wonder which other hoses might also be worth replacing, the long heater return to thermostat near the bottom of the radiator (part number 17 12 7 548 223) is looking a bit rusty around some of the joins, although with three connections mostly in awkward places it could be quite a job to change.

Charges total £61.40

I bought for £224.38 inc delivery + £61.40 = £284.78 for both the waterpump and the thermostat.

Is servicing on an LCI 335i supposed to be:

Oil, insp 1, oil, insp 2, oil, insp 1 and so on?

I can't really tell what's going on here and if it's correct servicing, could anyone help?

Thanks

No, it's CBS (condition based servicing). The OBC will tell you when it thinks it needs what. iDrive menu, if you have it, or OBC stalk.

FWIW I'm no a believer in extended service intervals. I still do an annual oil change (8-10k miles) and check over, minimum. Brake fluid is every two years. Plugs are 60k IIRC. Brakes are wear indicator and usage specific. Pollen filter etc etc.

That’s pretty much my thoughts, too. 60k is correct for plugs. On my diesel I decided to simplify servicing, every 10k oil change. Every other service will get a pollen and air filter. Fuel filter-still deciding, maybe every other, maybe 3 years/40k.

I put a K&N filter in mine and just clean it every couple of years.

Sorry I missed this, thanks for posting. It adds a fair chunk onto the cost percentage wise, but still appears to be the cheapest option for Pierburg/Mahle parts.

I wonder if the seller in Germany included VAT, in which case it should be re-claimable. I have no idea how you would go about doing so however.

I agree. I do engine oil every 10k or so, with a pollen filter every time. Air filter is every 30k, and plugs every 60. Same two years for brake fluid and unless something cooling wise has failed I usually drain and fill the rad with coolant, too.

I was doing annual pollen filters but found they were still clean after a year/10k.

Thanks all for the answers regarding servicing.

So looking at the stamps above, it looks like it's been done as per the car's dash telling the owner/garage to do so?

I'm completely with you on servicing more frequently.

Yes. And you're due brake fluid in September. I'd inspect the pollen and air filters and see whether they need replacing. Neither are particularly expensive or hard to swap.
