I'm thinking to downgrade-to-upgrade my interior from leather to Alcantara on my E91 330d. I only really enjoy looking at a leather interior rather than sitting in it. Cloth / Alcantara is much better in all seasons.
My E39 I know; but IMO Alcantara is so much nicer than the leather of that era; much comfier too and warm in the winter/cool in the summer etc thumbup

Cheers guys. Echos what I've been told elsewhere as well. I will check in with Cotswold just to see what they can do.
They were pretty competitive when I was looking for a new battery for my other half’s 125 in January. I baulked at the first price and the guy said he’d see what he could do and came back with £168 delivered which was pretty good. I ended up with a Tayna jobbie for about £99 in the end.

I had alcantata sports seats in my E46 and it was much nicer than the leather in my current E91. The only advantage of leather is that it's wipe clean, so with my car being used for family duties these days I'm sticking with leather, otherwise I'd be looking to do a swap too.

I had Alcantara in a previous E46, but sadly it was on the sad side and looked very tired. I was fortunate to have a very rare Nappa/Alcantara interior in my E38. Again it looked it tired sadly.

I'm hoping I can get a nice one for my E91.

Must be quite rare I would have thought?

My original want was an E91 Spanish 330i N52 with alcantara. I quickly realised that several of those constituents were hard to find in isolation nevermind in combination. I ended up with a Spanish E90 with Dakota!

No alcantara in mine but regular cloth sport seats. Love it, for all the reasons listed above. Still looks great, at 170k, too.

For me, a quick hoover and the interior is clean smile

No specific leather cleaners, conditioners etc needed

A set is for sale on fleebay near me (ish). Slight bolster wear but more annoyingly are electric and mine aren't. Don't know if I want to bother with trying to retrofit electric seats (time invested vs output).

Nice manual 330i for sale here, if anyone is looking:

https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threads/bmw-e91-330...

No affiliation with the seller, just spend too much time looking at ads on M3 cutters.

I'd knock at least £2k off it because of how dirty the exhaust tips are! hehe

A nice rare car though.

Looks pretty good value compared to some of the base spec cars that dealers were flooding for more when I was looking in May.

I’d have been all over that car if it’d had been available six or seven weeks ago.

It's fair rare to see a manual one

330i, that spec, price is about right give or take £500 or so...

Buyers market and the prices are just going up

Yup. One dealer had a Le Mans blue 330 with black leather, 06 plate zero options abs that was ten grand. It was in superb confidence admittedly but that felt strong cash.

Sounds like a seller's market then. 8k is a significant uplift over recent years. I'm not saying they don't merit it. IMO they're better than the cars that came after.

It is indeed a sellers market at the moment. That said, with a 2006 car it comes down to condition more than anything else. Buy a tatty one for £4k and you could easily spend half the difference or more getting all the little jobs sorted out. I just sold a 2006 335i for significantly less than that, but it had a list of jobs as long as my arm that needed doing. As I was selling anyway, it didn't make sense to get it all done just to try and sell at a higher price.
