Does anyone on here have any recommendations for exhaust places in the Midlands?
I’ve bought a 135i back box for my 130i that I want to get fitted. It requires I little bit of buggeration to remove one of the exhaust hangers on the box and there’s a slight diff in diameter.
I’m also considering the removal of the resonator at the same time.

Had a few codes pop up on my 335i after scanning
2F6C is that I have both exhaust open at all times after I unclipped the cable in the boot. No dash lights.
2AAF seems to be fuel pump related, hoping it’s not the HPFP. It comes on ever time I start the car, even after clearing it.
2ABD after a quick look seems to be linked to modified cars or the TMAP? This has been on the car a while, but hasn’t bought up any EML. In the past not sure if this has been linked to when I give it some beans, and when it reaches high revs, the EML flashes up. And then will be gone on next start up.
Anyone with experience of the 2AAF code and 2ABD?

Hi fellow E91 owners.
Our 2005 325i is going to celebrate it's 16th birthday in a couple of months - and has happily passed 115k miles without many problems so far in 2021 (famous last words maybe).
However, I noticed the other day when hoovering half the local beach out of the car, that there was a damp patch in the driver's side rear footwell (under the floor mat). I'd had the door card off that side last year to replace the window lifter, so I assumed I hadn't put everything back right.
Whipped the door card off again this afternoon, and all looked good on first inspection (the vapour membrane is still stuck down fine)- so I got the wife to spray the car with a hose whilst I sat inside.
Depending on the amount of water and the angle of the jet - water was coming in through the hole I've circled in red below:
I noticed the trim clip on the door card that goes in to that particular hole was missing its rubber washer (presumably I managed to lose it when I took it off last time). I've swapped the washer from one of the higher up clips - but I guess I should treat it to a new set of clips and washers in due course.
Anyway - just to check - do we think it's normal for a bit of water to leak out there? I guess it is - hence the reason the clips are fitted with washers?
Thanks!

Are you absolutely sure that the vapour barrier is stuck down properly with the butyl tape; there could be a hole where it's come unstuck but you're not seeing it.Our 2005 325i is going to celebrate it's 16th birthday in a couple of months - and has happily passed 115k miles without many problems so far in 2021 (famous last words maybe).

More so as the water would leak from the lower holes first wouldn't it?
This is a common occurrence on the E39s; not sure re the E9x range though. It's not hard to undo the vapour barrier though and use new butyl tape to stick it down again properly; it does go hard and loses nit's stickiness with age etc
It's all about prepping the barrier properly by removing the old stuff and laying on the new tape

When I replaced the window lifter, I peeled only enough of the vapour barrier down from the top of the door that I needed to gain access. i.e. I didn't remove it completely. We had some torrential rain for a bit last night, and I've been out this morning to check, and so far as I can see there's no "new" puddle on the floor. Carpet feels slightly damp still, but I think that's because it hadn't fully dried yet.Going to keep an eye on it for the next few weeks (assuming we keep getting torrential rain showers every few days).

2AAF refers to the Low Pressure Fuel Supply Pressure being outside of parameters expected.2F6C is that I have both exhaust open at all times after I unclipped the cable in the boot. No dash lights.

This affects the HPFP's ability to maintain the correct High pressures.
The excellent Bimmerprofs (no affiliation) is your friend on this one, (https://bimmerprofs.com/n43n53-fuel-supply/)
Typically either Low Pressure Fuel Pump, Low pressure Fuel Filter, or Low Pressure Fuel Sensor
From my own experience of this code, N53 engine, in a 630i and of Bimmerprofs free online diagnostics.
Mine required a replacement fuel filter, circa £80 (located under the rear seat, nearside. YouTube for procedure) DIY'able with care.
This banished this code for good and after a Noxem (I knew the NOx sensor was shot), allowed Stratified mode, resulting in a return to smooth running and a significant increase in mpg.
Bare in mind this 2AAF code may well stop other fuel adaptations and possibly this has led to your 2ABD code.
If you have access to INPA, I recommend you take up their offer of free diagnostics, their service is excellent.

I'm pretty sure the washer is there to absorb vibration, not to act as a water seal.Anyway - just to check - do we think it's normal for a bit of water to leak out there? I guess it is - hence the reason the clips are fitted with washers?

Correct I guess it was running down the inside of the door, and splashing off the door skin. With the clip (and more importantly, washer) in place - it seemed to stop.
Is the inside of the door supposed to get "wet" by design (it looks like it has a drain grommet in the bottom of it, so I assume it is?) - or is it meant to be dry, suggesting I have a leaking external window seal perhaps?
Great! Cheers for the reply. Will have to look at the site. Not got access to INPA. Not got a windows laptop. I’ll have to get in touch with my local specialist as soon as I’ve kicked COVID to the kerb. Haha

Cheap manual N52 330i touring M sport with xenon lights here:

Looking at the MOT history (and the reg) it’s lived a lot of it’s life north of the border and that hasn’t been too kind to it.

That's a lot of car for the money, nice spec too with Xenons and alcantara upholstery (which I prefer over leather). Shame it doesn't have iDrive which despite being near useless itself it makes it much easier to add CarPlay.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108085...

Past experience tells me to avoid cars that have spent time north of the border due to inevitable rust issues, although as the E9x seems to be much less prone than the E46 maybe this is less of a concern. The car does appear to be a little unloved based on the photos however.

CarPlay is enough to add with a double din kit to cars if this era and the benefit is a better quality screen than the CCC era cars.

Anyone give me some pointers to preventative maintenance on my E91 335I Panoramic roof ? It always has worked perfectly but aware that they can be problematic.
Any tips much appreciated.
I think keeping the runners clean & well greased would be a good place to startAny tips much appreciated.
Unsure if you're able to reach the drains, but if you can, make sure they're free to drain off as my pals weren't and that turned into a mess, quickly (335D FYI)
