Anyone using Pagid discs?

I'm going to have to return the latest set of Brembos. I've had enough now.
That's interesting - my BMW Indy told me he normally fits Brembos. What is the problem with them?

Warping. 5 pairs of fronts on two different cars. Normal driving, nothing mad. Never known anything like it.

Might be obvious but you don't tend to sit with your foot on the brakes?

Nope.

Three different drivers.

Discs rarely warp. More likely pad deposits. Did you do a bedding in procedure on them?

Yep, per the manufacturer's recommendations. No obvious issue with the surface on the discs on physical/visual inspection. Sets that have been removed have had excess run out........

Never had this happen on 20+ other cars, maybe 30 sets of discs.

If anyone could answer the original question that would be great.

When I ran my BMW garage I had too many problems with non genuine discs and only fitted gen BMW discs (do the same with my own BMWs).

Nope. Weird. I've pretty much always used Brembo. Not necessarily with Brembo pads though so not sure if that's the issue either.

So, firstly, fair play to ECP who have covered replacements with no quibble.

I am faced with the following options:

1. Brembo OEM spec discs and pads.
2. Mtec drilled and grooved ( 124 on eBay ETA 106 on MTec's site with their own pads (half the price of EBC)
3. Ferodo Drilled and grooved discs with Ferodo pads ( 109 on eBay

Or any of the discs combined with any pads.

I'm reluctant to prove Einstein right by going for a straight forward #1 swap over.

Just started a new tread on the below but maybe better posted here with the abundance of E9X passion & experience!

I have recently purchased an E90 330i (05) to convert to a fast road/track car and need some advice on coilover upgrades

Plan is to fit track tyres & coilovers for a start and to get the car out on track to enjoy it before getting too carried away with a 'to do' upgrade list - further mods to follow in due course

I am living in Germany1/2 hr from the 'ring (good twisties all the way there or motorway) so road useage will be minimal and on well surfaced roads

My understanding is (especially with the E90 being an SE on non-M Sport suspension) that it pays to devote a significant portion of the total budget to coilovers, rather than worrying too much about polybushing, anti-roll bar upgrades or other handling upgrades - i.e. money that could potentially be spent in these areas would be better spent by increasing the coilover budget - let me know your thoughs on this assumption...

Dependent on the above I would be considering a lower budget of GBP 1-1.5k (if undertaking other handling upgrades) and GPB 1.5 - 2k if just the coilovers

I am looking at KW v 1/2/3 or H&R for option 1 and KW clubsport for option 2

Please share your thoughts and experience and other suggestions you may have (any general E90 track car advice about where best to spend money and where to start, this is also appreciated, especially for 'ring setup)

Cheers

Rob

AFAIK the Brembo part number I've been using is the BMW one per OEM - same stamped/etched on them anyway.

ETA. There's a grooved ATE disc from the fatherland https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-ATE-POWER-BRAKE-DISC...

Have mainstream BMW's not generally used Textar discs and pads?

Was the case with the e46/39.

I've seen ATE and others. Last set I bought over the counter at BMW were E36 Evo front discs. Cost a fortune but can't remember who the supplier was. Previously I've been told by various parts departments that what's in their box is the same as what's on the shelf elsewhere. Certainly that was the case with one well known manufacturer who has since, allegedly, stifled the flow of the OEM part to the aftermarket so they can charge over three times the price for the exact same Brembo part number.

Brembo discs:

Gen BMW discs:

Afraid I don’t know who makes discs for BMW, of all the aftermarket discs I’ve seen ATE look closest to the ones BMW sell.
