Here's a few pics of my E91 330i SE

Its a 2006 N52 with a 6MT.

It was first registered to BMW in 2006 then owned by a retired bloke since 2007 right up until a couple of weeks ago when I bought it. It's covered a grand total of 23k miles with a FSH. Its absolutely mint and as tight as a drum. It's engine is a cracker (Ive just sold my F10 M5 and dont feel short changed)!

Ive put new rubber on as the originals were perished after 12 years.

162s smile Look terrible on a touring, don't they?! (Want to sell?!)

There's a set of 162s on eBay (that need a refurb) for £350 at the moment...

Quite a find! Looks almost the same as our N52 2005 325i SE (same colour, maybe the same wheels) - but we've broken through the 90k miles this year (still pretty low I guess, considering the age). They're definitely a "keeper" kind of car - we've had ours since 2009, drove my new born son home from hospital in it, and he's 8 in July smile Never owned a car for so long, but I can't think of anything within a reasonable budget that I'd replace it with.

I love the wheels! So much better than chocolate MV3s.

Had our 325i 6MT since our son was one week old. He's 8 now! Have never kept a car that long.

It has had a few tweaks that I've documented on a reader's cars thread, Alpine upgrade, 18" style 219 M3 wheels, nicer trim than the aluminium, LED headlights, all sorts of bits. We'll likely keep it 3 more years. It just works (though I'd secretly not mind if it was an auto <we live in london>)

That's quite a find!

I would have loved a 330i, but my budget didn't allow for that - so I've got a 325i with 133K miles!

But the 3 litre N52 is a great engine (my other car is a 3.0Si Z4 Coupe).

Still the 2.5 N52 isn't too shabby once you get the revs up a bit.

Thanks for the positive comments all. I'm quite taken with the old girl tbh.

Re the wheels - Unfortunately I like them too haha so they will be staying on the car for the forseeable

Each to their own but much prefer the MV3s, there’s just way too much metal in those 162s and just look dull.

The only ones I could see are 455 or best offer. Add a couple of hundred for a refurb and you're in to strong money territory.

I think the mv3 are a nicer wheel to look at but would look out of place on my lowly SE.

Plus these 162 are super easy to clean smile

I love how rare the 162 wheel is as well, whereas the MV3 is really common on the 3 series. I hated cleaning the MV3's so another plus for the 162!

They're like a slightly toned down 107 - amazed more people didn't spec them but the MVs were prevalent at the time and I guess that's just how trends work.

107s on an E90 doesn't work.

So, are these 162 wheels rare then?

I'm not really up to speed on the e9X series aside from the M3.

I had an ABS warning light come on yesterday. Guy at work scanned it with the Snap On tool and it said front left wheel speed sensor. So I guess I need one of them. Anyone tackled this job?
My car has a receipt for one somewhere on it's history. I'd check you haven't just chaffed the cable somewhere first. Otherwise you may be having fun with a seized in sensor as per every other wheel speed sensor in a hub ever!
Well the fault went away so maybe its just fine now.
Had the car scanned again today as it is going into limp mode occasionally. Apparently the car believes there is a fault with the exhaust cam sensor and possibly the vanos boost pressure something or other. My guy at work recommended doing the exhaust cam sensor first and then see what happens. Anyone tackled this?

Also the car complains about the battery regularly. Is this a simple swap out or does it need coding to the car like some of these crazy stop start cars need these days?

They tended to be on early models, demonstrator or the likes I've found looking at the market.

I saw that car for sale and couldn't believe the low mileage. Looks you got a bit of a bargain. smile

Not rare per se, or necessarily sought after, but a welcome change from the more common MVs which, I think, were standard fit on sports and options on others. I think that means they're on an unknown proportion of SEs from new.
