Very split now between the fun of one of these Vs the practicality of an Audi S5.
Ah, you have reminded me of another plus point for the Z4C.They are very rare and I go weeks, if not months, without seeing another on the road.
Whereas S5s you will see everywhere (usually about 3 inches from your rear bumper)

Slightly O/T but did you change the bushes and tyres at the same time? I'm wondering how much difference each one made.
Although low battery will impact on the central locking, OP should note it could also be the G5 module.
Changed the tyres as soon as we got it home (have Minis in the family so have hateful experience of runflats), changed the bushes at the first service.Although low battery will impact on the central locking, OP should note it could also be the G5 module.
Tyres probably made the biggest difference, certainly in terms of tramlining at speed. Bushes made the steering much more positive and reduced kickback from potholes

Thanks, that's useful. I changed the tyres ages ago - which made the car feel like you'd expect it to - but I think I'll get the bushes etc looked at as it does feel vague.Wills2 said:

The water pump will go if it hasn't already. Get it replaced (with thermostat) preventatively.
Really? Still using the one it came with from the factory 10 years on. Yup. Will go sometime after the 10 year mark. Fault will be annoyingly intermittent at first

I know! A bit different.
However went for a hike on Sunday and realised that after many miles of trekking the last thing i want is to squeeze into an 2 seater when knackered.
Sensible head won - the z4 would make me smile on B roads. The Audi makes me smile on A roads & Motorways (although not at the pump). I spend vastly more time on A & motorways.
One day i'll go back for a 2 seater.

Not quite, its got me looking. I fancy one if for no other reason I haven't really ever owned a 'nice' sounding car and would like to experience a nice N/A straight 6 whilst I still can. Might go and have a look at the black one on AT over in Crewkerne over the weekend. Looks a hell of lot of car for under 8 bags.
Unfortunately I have bad form when it comes to speculative car looksies, last time I did it I came away with a mates Megane R26.
