SURVEY - Fly poop on WHITE cars - Why?
Discussion
My wife's 2016 X1 in Mineral White is REALLY suffering from flies landing and pooping. Take a look...
This seems a common problem on white cars. My son's Chilli Red Cooper S is parked next to the X1 and had no flies, and no fly dirt on it. There was one fly directly on the white stripe on the bonnet however. Both cars sit outside, ungaraged.
The X1 was washed 2 weeks prior with AutoGlym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, but so was the Mini a week ago so I've ruled out the shampoo attracting the flies.
Is it just the colour white that attracts flies as Googling the subject seems to confirm? And why are flies firstly attracted to it, and then want to poop on it?
What's your experience of this problem, and have you had any success in preventing it?
Thanks for any info/help!
It looks like you have alot of enemies must be audi fans
No offence, but it sounds really funny
However back to topic, i would try polish--> clay bar--> apply good wax. maybe it will not stop to mess up with bmw,but it will be easier to clean it without doing any harm to paint.
Shampoo which you using is very good, i was using that one for years very happy about it.
If you want cheaper version just buy autoglym wet wax, after washed with conditioner, while car is wet spray wet wax and dry out straight away.
Done some researches it looks like flies more attractive when car is wet so they put eggs on it.
Looks like best option to have good wax on the car.

I have only owned one white car (mk1 MR2 - so obviously before the recent trend!) and it suffered the same fate. I think yellow cars can also have similar issues, judging by owners of yellow VX220s.
I used baby wipes to get rid of it - never found any preventive measures though (in 7 years of ownership!)
I subsequently made sure I never bought a white car again!
