Quote from DMS:-

"Only details incorrect in Autocar and BMW Car for the 535D are the power and torque figures. Figures given are below what is actually achieved. Power goes up to 334 bhp and torque to 506 lb/ft."

That thing is going to be monsterous, that is give or take 9bhp the E46 M3

Although thinking about what dcb mentioned, isn't that perhaps pushing things a bit close to the limit, I wouldn't know what safety margin is built into the components. Want one

Just specced up a 535d Touring - a few pennies shy of £50k

And in a year it'll only be worth 70% of that....

You gotta know that you'll keep it for a while to make it a sensible purchase.

Having said that, it'd be a real barnstormer with the DMS mods yum yum.

£41K for a saloon without extra gadgets. Not too bad.

Residuals will hold up well on this model. The 530d will take the hits.

There was a fully specd 535d Sport up for £36k on the trader lately- £35k should be the target for a 3-6 month old e.g.

Depreciation:
New £39295
Year 1 £30261
Year 2 £26025
Year 3 £22378
Year 4 £19022

Defo buy 1yr old otherwise thats £9k plus approx £5k options i.e. £14k wiped off in the 1st yr

I have had my Silver 535d Sport since March 05 and can honestly say it is by far the very best car I have ever owned. Immediately before the 535 I had an 04 plate RX-8 230BHP which was a a wonderful car in so may ways, quality, handling (especially agility)BUT I have never driven a car that had so little torque and yet drank fuel..... 25mpg on a really good day 20mpg as an average. Before that I had an 02 plate 330i Sport Touring which was also a truely great car. Heavy for its size but agile and planted to the road.

Hunting for a new car for March 08 so if anyone wants my 535d Sport at about that time its available. What next????? Looked at the Chrysler 300C CRD but this is much slower and the interior quality is aweful.....next on my list has been the 320CDI CLS, this is a beauty of a car in so many ways but needs a Brabus Chip to get close to the 535d. Love the idea of the new 635d Sport but have two kids and having tried them in an older 6 series I know in my heart it just won't work......Keeping coming back to the 535d Sport but maybe this time I'll try the DMS. Decisions decisions....

Hi - have just signed up to pitonheads.
Bought the wife a 535d M sport in January was so impressed have just bought a 335d Coupe - In a straight line the coupe just pulls away from the 5. BTW 5 is averaging 29 to the gallon Coupe 35. Am getting them both chipped by DMS as soon as I can.

Standard car feels "slow" in comparison to DMS!

Do it!
