It’s a great car markcu.

Had mine 18 months and it does everything I want it to and it’s fast. Launch control is impressive although only used it twice. Car looks great and is unusual as a Touring. I do a lot of mountain biking and it’s perfect especially in the alps.

OP, congrats on your new car order!

I ordered my 440 the second week of May, with individual paint (Tanzanite Blue) and merino leather, and I'm expecting to receive the car the third week of October. Getting very excited now!
did yours arrive yet?
Sadly (and unbelievably) not yet. Received an email from the dealer last week that said BMW had again pushed the build back, this time by another 3 weeks, so I'll be lucky if I see the car by second week of December. Honestly, it's driving me to the edge of reason. Of course, registering the car in mid-December is financially not the best move so even if the car does arrive in December I'll probably bite the bullet and leave it until 1st January so it's a 2018 car. I could go into a full scale rant, but suffice to say, I honestly I can't comprehend how it can take this long to build a customer-ordered car. I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.

Just out of curiosity, how much are people paying for near fully loaded 340i?

Ie, the real world cash price after everything if you were to use savings and/or pay finance from savings (assuming zero growth)

Last I looked I'd have to take huge credit to get the huge manufacturer discount, which then just offsets the interest costs?

Would be keen to know real world numbers before buying nearly new and losing out on the right spec car for just a bit more £££

I keep seeing sliding armrests on almost all cars, but they're not standard?

Excuse my ignorance, but what are they?
It sounds like I should have them?

Arm rest on centre piece by handbrake is standard. If you want it to slide forward to make it more comfortable then you pay £45 for it.

Thanks for that.

Probably quite handy with iDrive dial and an auto box while doing crawling along driving.

Was yours loaded with many extras? I wonder if that could be a reason. I know I had to get some kind of special permission to be able to order digital dash as well as HUD... I wonder if this may impact my delivery time.

Yes, individual paint and leather. The dealer said from day one that it would slow things down, although even they are surprised by the extent of the delays. They're pulling their hair out also. Also they've been very good and have lent me a new X3 for a couple of months, which is most welcome as I sold my previous car in August and have been borrowing my wife's Mini Cooper! smile

So mine finally arrived 21st December.... There were a couple of issues getting the MPPSK fitted which BMW engineering had to sort out, but all in all I am a very happy man. I think I got just the right extras, and the new exhaust kit really makes the car in my opinion...Now I just need to wait for some dry roads and warmer weather. :-)

Congrats. Any pictures?

Would be interested to hear what problems you had with the MPPSK. I had software problems and had to go back a few times before they managed to install it properly.
