If anyone's got an E9x with just the aux port for stereo input I'd highly recommend one of these

I use it with a Samsung Galaxy S7 and a cheap bluetooth dongle. You can log into your Amazon Alexa account, use all the Alexa functions and play music from Amazon Music (a recent update not mentioned in the ad), Spotify or Deezer. The voice activated navigation seems to work well too.

I've got the Sony RM-X7BT as well and this seems to be much less clunky in operation and more compact - and it's only £6.49! It's not on Prime but mine arrived in 2 days. It's Android only - doesn't work with iPhone

I've got the Sony model you mention and don't find it clunky at all, turn on ignition, phone pairs straight away, press play and the music player picks up where you left off. Voice commands are handled by Google Assistant, Google Smart Lock means phone doesn't even have to be unlocked.

Think I was impressed with the Sony version is the sound quality, easily the best dongle I've heard, but then I also have a Sony phone so it uses their higher bitrate codec. Was pricy, but worth it imo.

Interesting- I find that it’ll just loose communication with the phone after a while and the voice communication always needs a few goes to get it right. Maybe that’s because I’ve got a Samsung phone though.

The infra-red transmitter on the Sony definitely seems a bit primitive though and the Logitech is much neater as it’s all contained in the vent magnet.
