So that really means any warranty work (for it to pay off) needs to be greater than £630 a year.
Yes, but the peace of mind for me is well worth that , combined with the fact that had I bought the same car from a dealer it would have cost me a lot more than what I paid + £630 smile

Just purchased for my M135i.

£380 with £250 excess, a whisker under 35k miles.

Alternatively, he’s paying £380 for peace of mind. wink Under £35/month to not have to worry too much about something expensive breaking? I’d say that’s worth it...
Agreed.

BMW insured warranty (allianz) is superb. My reason for cancelling was the awful dealer experience which resulted from their apparent reluctance to avoid claiming on it. I even had a spurious diagnosis of dud wishbones and a quote for nearly 1k which "definitely" would not be covered as it's wear and tear. When I phoned the warranty company they said it was covered no problem. Service advisor was visibly annoyed by my going direct to warranty and I'm sure it's because a) fake diagnosis and b) they get far less per hour warranty than retail so don't like doing the work.

After it was agreed they still pushed back on bits and pieces like a KDS alignment which is required according to TIS.

So, great product crap execution by the dealers. As ever YMMV.

Never had any issues claiming personally, and there was no resistance whatsoever by the dealership. I assumed they must do fairly well out of it as it's guaranteed work.

You probably had a lucky escape though with not having the KDS alignment. On both ours the dealership did a shocking job of alignment and both ended up going to Infinit Stockport to be sorted on their Hunter setup.

Anybody bought a warranty after the manufactures one has expired?

What I'm asking is what's to stop you buying a BMW warranty if you notice that something 'claimable' is about to fail?
You can't claim for the first 30 days, but I ran my car for a few years without a warranty and managed to get lucky. I think once I bought the warranty, I had my first failure within the first 6 months of having it so timed that well.
