Thanks for the advice everyone, much appreciated.

Well, I'm looking forward to picking it up tomorrow and driving off into the sunset! Will share some photos and initial thoughts etc! Then see if any improvements can be made smile

Great experience with the Z4 so far! Really great buy and totally don't feel as low to the ground or exposed as I thought I might. Now I just need some good weather for the roof (luckily got some decent hours of sun on Saturday).

There were also a few decent bits thrown in in terms of cleaner and protector for the roof, which is nice - and some random cup holders that kind of slot in between the seat and the side.

First step in terms of upgrades for me I think is the stereo - annoyingly the track names aren't displayed when playing CDs (both audio CDs and MP3) - but could also benefit from USB / Spotify / Bluetooth. I've done a bit of research and seems that a Pioneer is pretty good. Does anyone here have any experience with their radios? Would be great to get any feedback or suggestions.

Also if there are any other areas you think are good to invest in upgrades! Do you think gearstick is a priority (e.g. Storm) ?

A gen BMW weighted gearknob is good. Doesn’t look aftermarket. I think they are around £57.

Smart ride for 2k.

The replacement MMI controller for my Audi is £2377, it that makes you feel better about what youve bought. It looks like a DVD player but it controlls the entertainment system in my car. I’m going to go without.

If I want to hear music in the future it would be cheaper and more fun to by a Z4 it seems....

Sigh.

What's this weighted gear knob? BMW genuine fit?

But yeah, I paid about £50 from Cotswold BMW for a replacement 5sp M knob for my 330ci sport when I got it to replace the knackered one like for like with factory spec.

Right ok. Presumably has additional mass to it that standard? Or is it the same as what I have in my 330ci sport?
The one I have seems quite heavily, certainly not just plastic and leather and a bit shorter than a lot at maybe 3inches tall. Looks just like the one in the link but obviously the photo doesn't show the weight.

It’s different to the standard sport knob.

The shorter weighted shifters are great, they transform the shift feel and quality loads.

The standard one is turd in comparison imo.

Yes, I put a ZHP shifter on my car last year and it's a huge improvement over the standard one.

Lucky I did it last year - nobody seems to have any stock of 6 speed ZHPs this year!
