I’m not fussed on mpg or env stuff too much.
The point was more that the advancements work out neutrally because the costs are still daft.
Advancements are good if they cheapen over time, but £350 ish for a water pump part as the tech reaches 14yrs old is a bit eye watering.
Sadly I can see a lot of N52 stuff reach the breakers a lot earlier than they should because of pumps/cam covers.
The M54 common faults were a morning DIY job you could do for a few hundred quid in comparison.
It’s just a bit sad that BMW couldn’t have made these elements in such a way they were a bit easier to do (labour), or simpler parts design.
