E60 535d - keep or change?
Discussion
Hi all,
Some help please!
I recently purchased a AUC E60 LCI 535d. Awesome car! At the time of purchasing it, I was expecting to do alot of motorway mileage hence the need for a powerful diesel. Anyway, my circumstances have since changed and the long motorway mileage will no longer happen and it will mostly all be city driving / lots of stop start.
So I am contemplating what to do.
I quite like the look of a pre LCI E92 335i (not a fan of the LCI lights) but it will probably mean having to spend more money to change
So my question is should I keep the E60 535d for another few months (it's still under the BMW AUC Warranty) which means I can save some more cash and perhaps prices might get cheaper on a E92 335i or get rid and change to a E92 335i now?
Look forward to your thoughts!
Cheers!!

I have same dilemma - love my 530i f10 think it's great but got an m5 itch and whilst I do next to no mileage it seems mad to have such an economical car as the 530i. Fact is for most of my driving it's great and quick enough.
At the end of the day the decision is personal an nobody can really know what's best for you if you see what i mean...
Personally I'd ditch then derv and go petrol...

Only a few month..... you’ll be rinsed if trading it in - and also privately as it would be odd to change so soon (even if the story is true most buyers will think he bought a lemon and is trying to shift it on).
The thing is though with F10 535ds now at £9k asking price it’s pushing the E60’s into very cheap territory/why would you buy the E60 535d over the F10 535d?

I have a 535D LCI and absolutely love it, its remapped and does everything I need it to do, personally prefer the E60 shape over the F10 also its correct about the value they are not cheap to buy now but can be expensive to maintain!
I do 80 miles a day mostly motorway so makes sense to keep it as i have tested a 2L diesel for the same journeys and was only a 10er cheaper over the week which is nothing really, if i was doing town journeys i wouldn't keep it tbh, its when the bills pile up with egr / dpf issues, they are made for the motorway and need good runs to keep them going.

It's like groundhog day isnt it?There are no F10 535d's with a £9k asking price on all of Autotrader. £9k is not F10 535d money. It's 520d at best and even then tis probably not a brilliant one.

The 'asking price' of that car is £10,000.Fox- said:
You said 'asking price', not me!
I doubt you'll be getting a thousand quid off the cheapest 535d M Sport in the entire country.
It does make you think prices of the F10 530/535d/i’s are Falling through the floor and M5’s of this age are getting such good value you’d have to really think hard about opting for a non M5 if going for a petrol as prices are grouping together. I doubt you'll be getting a thousand quid off the cheapest 535d M Sport in the entire country.

That's a Cat D for 50 quid under £20k!bmwmike said:
What's a f10 530i 2012 worth anyway ? 59k miles, HUD etc.
Given M5’s are very low £20ks and they were (with options) double the price of a 530i low teens?? Given 535d which were a lot more than the 530i when new start at being advertised under £10k
On Autotrader here is only 1 F10 530i for sale advertised at £14k
Also the 535i is advertised at the same starting price... you have to question why like for like someone would choose the 530i over the 535i.
And for completeness the 550i is advertised at £16.9k
At a guess a 530i is £11-12k based on the fact you can buy higher models in the range with better spec for not much more.
A tualy is the 550i the smart buy over the M5....

Yeah I'd agree sounds about right price wise. Personally I chose nasp over blown which was why I chose 530i over 535i. The 550i is plagued with problems btw so m5 would be smarter choice over the 50i.Given 535d which were a lot more than the 530i when new start at being advertised under £10k
