The s63tu is based off the n63 yes but the s63tu has none of the main n63 issues and is apparently a far more reliable engine. The n63 was plagued with piezo injector failures, HPFP, breather issues and timing chain issues. Possibly others. It was a bit of a dog by all accounts and bmw US did a buyback scheme.rayyan171 said:
As for the 535d - our X5 really doesn't like short trips, and needs a long trip with good presses of the fast pedal to keep it healthy. If you're doing less than 12k a year, then they aren't worth it.
