Which E39?
Embarrassingly I have no idea but I don’t think it’s the SE / most desirable one.
It’s got leather seats and nice split rim wheels and is an auto.

The Sport are generally the most desirable ones; the SE more the waft bus/grandad spec car, but it can soon be made into a Sport (a simple swap of the suspension, bumpers and de-chromed) etc

Which engine is it?

4.4 v8. Are there different engines in the 540s?!

No; you just said you had one of them, but both the 530i and 540i cars had been mentioned wink

Oops
What do you think an auto 540 2002 would be worth in good condition, no rust...no kerbed wheels and 85k on the clock would be?

£3-3.5k. If someone really wants one then maybe £4K if it’s immaculate.

What colour? Need to know if it's an SE or Sport too... What colour is the interior also?

For me, a 540i on an 02 plate with low mileage like that; £4-£5k easy, every day... They're becoming more and more sought after

If it's in as good a condition as you're saying, it'll fetch good money

Grey with black leather interior
It’s not an M sport wheel but I don’t know about it being an SE or sport - I don’t think it’s either
It’s lovely but I have no use for it

It sounds like it will be an SE; they either came as an SE or Sport; nothing in between.

If you can, put up the last 7 digits of the VIN number and I'll decode it for you, so you can see the full spec. Feel free to click on my user name and send me a private message if you wish

I still think you'll get good £££ for it

Having said that, the first F10's are coming up to ten years old and have proven pretty durable.
Mine is 6 years old, 132,000 miles on it & it's been near-perfect. Both suspension airbags replaced, 10 days worth of EGR recall, and that's it.

I had mine out for the first proper drive since early october last year. It didn't like sitting for that long tbh, had a ticking lifter that thankfully stopped ticking after a short drive. Felt great to be in the car again, have been stuck with my little VW Up over the winter.

Had my M5 a few years now and really like it.

I've only recently had the wheels refurbished, at long last. Much better and closer to shadow chrome now. It's a great car but the list of things I'd like to yet do is long!

Mine always ticks quite loudly for a few minutes if it’s been left for more than a month or so. A short run and it’s back to being pretty quiet again.

As quiet as these things get anyway, it's a noisy engine biggrin

I’ve just found a new E39 front lower spring pad and put it on eBay if anyone needs one.

Part no 31331091864.

FYI these are £6.05 from BMW with delivery; you might be wasting your time trying to sell it wink
