Is the warranty annual ?
If so just transfer to new owner, so the issue is dealt with in their name.
If monthly , assuming it’s the same as in 2016 when I sold my 335i, the new owner can assume the monthlies without a break in continuity. So you could suggest they do that to get issue sorted. You could always reduce the price by one monthly payment.

You don’t have to tell the buyer , there’s no real comeback with private sales. But if it were me I’d be honest.

The warranty is paid monthly, I’ve told the buyer that we will fully discuss tomorrow when he’s due to collect car. I think I’m billed every 20 something of the month so I’m fairly sure that’s just been paid, so I might hang on to it and see out the month before cancelled. Worst thing is I went to mechanic after work and his diagnostic kit was playing up and wouldn’t connect to my vehicle ( his guess was fuel pump) but just a wild stab in dark he didn’t have a look at anything etc I then went to a bmw specialist which isn’t far from there and he couldn’t do anything as he was fully booked, typical. I think I’m going to keep quiet about it and try my best to get him to transfer to my warranty, should he decline I will knock abit of the price, even though I’ve already knocked 300 for him as quick a sale frown

The car only seems to do this on the morning start up after being rested all night, seems to turn over fine throughout day, weird

Will get the meter out and check in the morning, don’t think it is battery related but can’t rule it out has it hasn’t been changed in the 5 years I’ve owned. Hopefully she behaves tomorrow, fingers crossed

What a pain in the back side getting the silly plastic tray off and back in, had to remove all the carpet trim around it grrrrr this is really turned into a love and hate relationship lol so the car turned over fine today, battery voltages are fine, the battery all clean and all connections tight, however found some yellowish substance in the plastic cover, looks like oil but doesn’t smell of it or anything. Not quite sure what the hell it is. So game on hopefully, give her her last wash today and say my farewells

I wouldn’t knock anything off for no given reason.
It’s a good idea for buyer to take on a warranty without break in continuity for a private sale.
If he does that , any issues will be sorted. If he doesn’t maybe he’s got mechanics at his disposal or will just flip the car , you never know.

The AA has online a proforma contract for private sales. I’ve used it , covers me in the event the buyer ever raised an issue.

Cheers for input much appreciated, wasn’t even aware AA offered that kind of service. Seems the guys got a close mechanic at hand though so hopefully things go okay. Sale was successfully completed yesterday, tried my hardest to flog the warranty over to him but his mrs wasn’t too keen on coughing up over £1200 a year for something they may not need. I’ve offered to hold out a month longer till I cancel the warranty through goodwill, so hopefully all turns out well. Im actually gutted to see the car go, noticing the empty space which she sat on in the drive is making me grumpy today grrr lol to anyone that followed this post from the very beginning it’s now looking like a m140 possibly 240i or golf r, m3 is just too risky, and 640d is now pointless as the new ultra low emissions zone maralaky has come in and it’s affected. Should Anyone come across any nice 140i in auto and fully loaded please feel free to share. Many thanks for all the help guys
