What? Even if that sentence made sense, I don't think it's the point.

The thread is about the 320d. What are you doing on it, are you another Lexus fan?

I replied to the fantasist Lexus owner, stating that my opinion is that the Lexus LS is absolutely not a drivers car.

And you're asking if I'm another Lexus fan?

Trying to decide which is closer to being a drivers car in their class is like arguing which is the best steak replacement, tofu or quorn.

Just, no.

In the small, over priced, under powered, photocopier salesman saloon car sector biggrin

The Alfa or the Jaguar is the one. With a decent engine. A 4 cylinder diesel is not a decent engine. I hope this factual information helps you.

Because a diesel 3 series and diesel 5 series just aren't - despite what the motoring rags tell you. They're photocopier salesman's cars.

This old shed is much more of a drivers car than any non M BMW - and you know it.

Haha...so now prospective buyers of a new 320D have two choices, a 6 year old Lexus and a £1500 Impreza.

And below 50 - and every time you start the thing.

I could clearly hear the diesel engine in an S class at over 60mph and also at high RPMs where it made a ghastly sound. These engines, thankfully, will soon be a thing of the past. A diesel car is the worst form of automotive death.
BS.

How many LS’s are sold vs S Class Mercedes? They’re in a different class, both technically and every other way to the Japanese Mercedes.

There is no argument that the 3 series does what it does very well.

Can we stop detailing this thread talking about your deeply uninteresting, slow, ill steering, old people’s chariot please?

Thanks.

Make that 3 - at least it has a nice engine. Horrid little car otherwise but that engine overcomes that biggrin

As said above someone asked for a video of me over being my engine - guess what the answer to that was / silence = not going to be supplied.

Plus it’s too dangerous and illegal to to do that

So do it while stationary. Better for the engine anyway as you wont be putting it under any load.

Unless you were making it up?

As you’ve only driven slow cars you wouldn’t know.

If I arrived at a clients in an old Lexus, I’d be embarrassed.

Isn’t that Lexus an odd comparison to the 320d?

LexyLex from your posting it appears your car cannot even deliver 50% of the mpg - a weak performance given the 320d is a to b transport and high dconomy

Apparently he’d rather drive 600 miles in his barge than catch a cheap flight and hire something interesting at the destination. That’s devotion right there smile

I’m yet to drive a better driving car in the 3 series class, and reading Autocars test of the new 320D this week, I’m not likely to anytime soon.

I wasn’t aware you could fly quicker from Reading to Bristol or Reading to Rugby/Derby (door to door and £ cheaper).

Do you fly frequently within the U.K. to avoid driving the Lexus?

Now you are trolling - earlier in the thread - I listed some of the cars I've owned - all of which are faster than your current stead (bar maybe the Atom)

Driving the Lexus is far nicer than going on public transport. How dumb can you actually be. I can take lots of stuff back with me that you cannot get in Blighted and this is not practical flying.
