You insist that your car revs to 5.5k despite all the evidence that it doesn't. Hence the calls for you to prove it with a video.
Requests don’t mean your given the ask does it.

Lots said this 320d doesn’t rev to 5,500rpm and many said beyond 4K revs the rev counter is there for the sake of it you cannot rev it to the redline as it will change up.... well Autocar have maximum achieved speeds at 5,200rpm in all gears where it could pull that all but 7/8th I believe
So it doesn't rev to 5500 then does it.

No the 320d G30 doesn’t as verified earlier in the thread it was sloppy jurnolism by Autocar (seeing far more of this these days).

VBH and Fifth Gear states otherwise + the rev range is different in those cars look at the 313bhp version or 320bhp version for example.

I've got the B57 320hp version in my 740d it's a nonsense to say the engine will rev usefully to 5500rpm it would be dying a death up there, feels natural to change up at 4.5k even when your foot is to the floor in fact if you use LC it does just that.

Diesels to their best work from 2-4k maximum power is at 4k in the B57

But it physically can rev - what ms the most you can rev the motor to?

As for how I drive mine I’m as you 1,800-4,500 rpm that’s clearly when having some progress whereas in D comfort it’s possibly never going above 2k - I don’t tend to look at the EV counter when pootling about.

As a dr you should be able to see what it’s limitations are if it’s redline is at 5,500rpm and you believe it slaps its limited at 5k why have it when no other BMW ever pre or post has a red line set too high for it to rev to.
It doesn't rev to >5500. It doesn't even rev to 5000. It just doesn't, the most the auto will rev to is 4750 despite your claims that it revs well beyond the redline.

It does.

Wills2 also verified it does rev to 5,50 on this very page in his old 335d and his curren 740d.

Why do you keep disbelieving the reality?

But it's utterly pointless I thought I'd broke my 335d trying to see if it did last time you started this stuff...hehe

I believe you when you say it revs to 550. laugh

Feel free to quote Wills2 "on this very page" where he says it revs to 5500 though because he doesn't say it!
