Nope, any modern car is vulnerable to keyless car theft. It's even worse for keyless entry systems like BMW's 'Comfort' spec because the key is constantly pinging the vehicle and easier to get a relay transmitter off it. You should put the keys in a faraday pouch to avoid this. Also use a Stoplock as a deterrent, it's enough of a pain for them to move on to an easier target. I know this because mine was the only E70 40d without one on the street when it got nicked!

Thanks for the info, mate! Collected the X5 this weekend after changing from the 3 series which was too small... Enjoying being in it, though I need to swap or refurbish the alloys as they are a little tatty. I know there's YouTube vids out there, but I'm just going to go look for some on eBay...
