Use waze on carplay/android and save your £25 a year for the camera warning. Also get warnings where people report mobile cameras etc. real time ish.
Does that work on HUD?
Sadly not.

No but does verbal warnings if you don’t want to look at screen

Very close to getting an order in on one of these, tho prices have ballooned compared to when this thread was started!

Will be in Touring flavour, either in Melbourne Red with Oyster or Alpine White with either Oyster or Tacora (Red). Not sure on which trim yet. Fairly minimal spec tho will add the HK and possibly the wireless phone charging (steep at £180!)

Any must haves as far as you guys have experienced? I cant see an option to ditch the run-flats - I'm going back a few years but that always used to be a no cost option - no longer the case?

I like the red and would have chosen it myself but my other half put a stop to it so I’ve got a Brooklyn grey one.

The HK system is night and day different to the pre LCI cars so if you hear bad words about it, don’t take them too serious.

Runflats are either Bridgestones, Goodyear or Pirelli, it’s a lottery… I’ve been lucky that mine is on Pirellis (PZ4) which are really good and would happily replace like for like when the time comes.

Well i am pretty much set on the Melbourne red with Oyster, which is basically cream, but it also has the lower dash in that colour which I'm not 100% on. Would have preferred the Merino ivory white (which comes witj all black dash) but it's not worth the £1k uplift for me. How's opinion on living with the basic Vernasca leather? I had Merino as standard in my old lease 8 series which was nice enough but I'd never realised BMW considered it to be the posh stuff!

Pretty much my spec.. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2022...

Will certainly give it a go, I do like having the sat-nav on HUD so big speed camera warning works for me and often have Spotify on main screen (and at a rather high volume) if the kids aren't watching YouTube on it.

It's OK, I wanted Marino but in Covid times the build date just kept going backwards so went for M-sport seats instead. Very comfy and may be equal to the softer marino leather?

I wouldn't go for cognac with a red exterior, but maybe worth considering the better seats? They do get stained from jeans though and imaging the Oyster would be even worse so having the harder wearing Vernasca might not be a bad thing after the 14th time you've cleaned the clothing dye from them.

I have the M sport seats but with the black leather, they’re pretty awesome.. really lift the interior of the car, but you do need the comfort plus pack before you can then add the seats too so adds to the price substantially.

Is that a recent change to the configurator? I'm sure I've looked at at least one car that has the M Sport seats but no Comfort Plus.

Are there any "must have" options in your collective experiences? I like the idea of the HUD and love the M-Sports sears, but it sounds like whether the HK is worthwhile depends on whether it's an FL or pre-FL car?

I had the HK in my pre LCI car and it was ok, probably not worth the money although I still don’t think I would have been without it.. in my LCI car the system has waaay more punch and sounds exactly how I’d expect.

I think the M Sport seats started being available late 2020, but I’ve never seen a car with them without the comfort plus pack.. basically the comfort plus gives you everything the comfort pack does, plus (basic) electric seats, the M a sport seats are then an extra upgrade on top of that even though they’re listed as a standalone option.

I avoided HUD on both my builds as I actively dislike it but that’s just personal preference.

Must haves for a new build for me now are the M Sport seats, and the carbon trim.. both these options are only available on the M340’s and make the interior look way more special.. I added the M3 paddles too and it looks great.

What’s the time from order to delivery on these now? It used to be around 12 weeks but probably longer now.

Also presumably you guys are still able to negotiate discounts?

I think a lot depends on spec, timescale wise.

I had no luck negotiating a discount with any local dealers earlier in the year, went to Tony Lewis (TRL) and got a far cheaper price. He doesn't "negotiate" a discount, he will just quote you far lower than any dealer I've found.

I've just ordered - coming mid March ish with a fairly basic spec. Another TRL convert, absolutely fantastic service and a great price too, well recommended!

No idea on delivery now, mine was fairly quick but I got lucky with a build slot.. aim for around 12% discount.

Is that the sort of discount TRL's offering? I'm a bit out of touch now as it's about 3 years ago since I ordered mine; TRL quoted me around 20% discount at the time but I appreciate the market's changed a bit since then!

Can’t speak for TRL, but Forces have been offering 10%.. I managed 13% on my LCI.. I’ve not heard of anyone getting more.

Last year I got 15% on my pre LCI, so the market has moved pretty quick.

Hi, found a deal for m340d brand new 47.5k, I believe list price is 58k, is this a good deal in the current climate? Seems too good to be true? It’s on a PCP. GFV is 23k after 4 years, apr 6.9% at 10k miles a year. No extra stuff though. What are people’s thoughts? Tempted to say go for it, as I’ll likely have to switch to electric after the term, and want my fun with an ICE car :/

Seems a decent price if it’s the new spec and colour you like and you need a new car and the apr is a decent rate, I would be pushing for service inclusive package in the deal. Mind you with the current climate we might see further price drops . But everyone has been saying that for months but there has been little real movement in prices.

Is that for a base car also? Seemingly some of the nice to have options are only available in the likes of the ‘tech pack’ which is another £3.8k? Depends if you’re bothered about these?

Have a watch of the latest Carwow review on the M340i on YouTube. They clock the 0-60 at 3.8 seconds in st conditions!

It’s black but I’m not overly fussed about the Color, I’ve been driving a 1 litre polo for the last 8 years. I was going to wait for a price drop, but I feel used cars are a function of supply/demand AND the prices of new cars. New cars have inflated a lot last few years so I reckon I could sell it in a few years for 30k.

Yeah base spec! Thing is I’ve been wanting one for 2 years, waiting for prices to drop etc, but now I’m thinking if a 2-3 year old one is 37k and I can get a brand new one for 10k more, it’s probably worth it with the warranty etc. will be first BMW aswell
