Jealous of the M performance seats! What were the options that it included?
Yeah, they’re very nice. It’s got tech plus, comfort plus, pano roof and even has a tow bar (I think the stuff on it like drive recorder, acc, heated wheel, comfort access etc are part of those plus packs). Only slight mark against it in spec terms is lack of wireless charging due to Covid spec legacy issues but I’m not bothered about that. Only 8k miles on a 72 so last of the pre LCI cars which was my preference as I prefer the earlier dash.

Was sort of meant to be, I was away with work and idly had a look at the bmw site while bored in the hotel to see if any had come up for sale that I liked. This one just happened to be at a dealer just half a mile off my route home. Only tiny spec thing against it for me is I like the coloured interiors just to lift it a bit and this is just black, albeit with blue stitching.

Does it have the Head-up Display? I think it was part of the Technology Pack for pre-LCI cars, which mine is. That's one option I would now miss if my car didn't have it.
Yes, that's part of the standard tech pack.

Amazing spec!

About to purchase an used approved LCI M340i which has my preferred spec (carbon trim, sunroof, comfort plus) with the exception of tech plus (it only has tech pack) but wondering if I'll regret not waiting for one with the tech plus. Would any of you say tech plus is a must? There's a car with the same spec and age etc that's got the tech plus instead of tech but it's £3k more...is it worth stumping up more? I understand the tech plus comes with ACC, drive recorder and also 360 camera (the main feature I fear I'll regret not having I feel as my current car doesn't have ACC anyway). Would you say these are must haves?

Edited by ha03274 on Wednesday 6th March 15:05
I wouldn’t be without ACC now, but I hear most people say they either don’t like it, or don’t think
It’s worth the extra. I must admit, for 3k extra the rest of the car would have to be spot on spec wise for me to consider it.

How harsh is the ACC on the brakes? The ACC on my old golf R destroyed the rear discs in 10k.
But is something miss and would consider onthe next M340i I get.

I wouldn’t say it’s too harsh. I do increase the follow distance though so the car has more time to react and allows for a smoother ride.

I’ve seen cars advertised as having “driver assistance pro” but without the “lane keeping” symbol on the steering wheel - is this possible?

COVID related chip shortages resulted in some variation from spec so I'd say that's certainly possible

I don't think this is possible, no.

The wireless charging is useless imo. You put the phone on the charging tray and 10-15 minutes later it over heats and turns off.

Agree, especially if streaming music or using Waze

Here's my Dravit grey tourer I picked up on Saturday morning.

Spec as follows :
Dravit grey
Fiona red / black merino leather
Carbon fibre interior trim
Comfort Pack
Tech Pack
Panoramic Sunroof

Absolutely love it. Had M340i's before, but this is my first touring. My first estate car in fact.

Collected my 2020 Dravit Grey saloon a few weeks ago and I love it.

Previous car was a 2017 3 door M140i without adaptive suspension which I had for over 4 years - the combination of the B58 engine and ZF8 gearbox is great, so felt like a natural progression to the M340i when I wanted something more comfortable and refined.

Driving the 2 cars back to back they are worlds apart. The M340i is only 3 years newer but looks and feels so much newer.

I will miss my M140i - it had real character, but I feel like I made the right choice.

Yep. Just wasn't getting along with it. As a second car the Mustang would be incredible, but as a daily driver and the primary car it was just too flawed. Also had some horrendous experiences with Ford during my short ownership.

Just bought a set of black 791m's on eBay which I should really have spec'd from new ... Suits the Dravit Grey so much better.

M Performance body kit is also on order, got a few parts for cheaper by shopping around, so hopefully I'll have that together and fitted in the next month.

Have you ran any insurance quotes with the MP kit added? I have the sideskirts and carbon diffuser on mine currently and looking to add front splitter and roof spoiler. These two elements seem to have a bigger impact on premiums than the latter.

Edit - just ran a few online quotes with my current insurer, Aviva. They won't even entertain the splitter or spoiler, never mind ramp the premium. Even selecting 'body kit' so there's just one mod listed, results in the same. Insurance really has become ridiculous

I haven't yet, but will do. My previous M340i saloon had the full kit on and that was about £60 more / year with my previous insurer. I know premiums have gone up, but worst case I'll shop around and stick it on when I change insurers or the policy expires, which is in June.

I've just ran a few quotes through Moneysupermarket from Moneysavingexpert's link. Not too bad tbh - With 'complete bodykit' selected I'm getting quotes around £500 which was quite a pleasant surprise. I'm currently £440 a year with Aviva, so that ties in with your £60 uplift. My policy only started last December so I'd get a pro rata refund, but there is a £56 cancellation fee...

I'd rather just pay the extra to Aviva to save the hassle of switching though!

Is there any way to change the altitude/distance measurement in the say nav from yards?

Sure I have posted a pic here before, but 1 year and 10k in this is still the best all rounder I've owned. Was tempted to chop in for a a110 recently but I knew that as a daily there was no contest. Any other Melbourne Reds out there?!

This has been a problem on every BMW I've had with navigation. Who has ever measured elevation/altitude in yards?
