I think the bigger question here is why on earth would want to rip out Xenons and go back to halogens? Makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever given the huge difference between the two.
My concern was that it might not pass an mot without self leveling or washer jets. It appears that's not something to be concerned about.

I have an 08 plate LCi 330d Msport touring, and it has the halogen lights. They are chuffing tragic, it's the one thing I truly hate on the car. Oddly the first owner spec'd the headlamp washers though.

My 335i was the same, halogen with washers. Hated the washers, they always sprayed when I didn't want them to and used up all my screenwash haha

Nope; all fine. They'll pass all MOTs with zero issues

There are no washer jets fitted, so they can't be tested, so no issues there. You just need to ensure that the headlights are set correctly, again, your local MOT station will do that for £beertokens as it takes them 5mins etc. Worth doing for peace of mind IMO

Other than that, all good to go and please, as others have said, don't revert back to candlelight, sorry, halogens, you'll instantly regret it smile

My Z4 Coupe was the same, Halogens but with headlight washers (it seems they all got the washers regardless).

I got fed up with the staining on the bonnet and front wings, and then I read about other owners losing the washer jet and/or it's cover - so I just pulled the relevant fuse!

I wasn't aware that they are on their own fuse, worth knowing as they can fail to retract.

You can also switch them off with coding. I do this over winter as they often freeze up.

Agreed, the Halogens are woeful.

I converted my E90 many moons ago after getting fed up with having a couple of candles for headlights.
